Is LO still in your room?

If so, what do they sleep in?

LO is in our room in the PNP. We don't have a room for her so she is in our room until STTN and then she can share with DS if we don't move in the next couple of months. Sigh.

Re: Is LO still in your room?

  • Yep her crib is side car-ed to the bed and she sleeps there.

  • Yes, DS is still in our room in the PNP. He's still waking up once a night to eat. His bedroom in on another floor, so until he sleeps through the whole night it's much easier to keep him in the bedroom with us.

  • Yes she is.  We have a mini crib in our room and will probably wait until she is STTN to move her to her own room.

  • Heck yeah. I don't separate from my babies at night until forced to...haha. We put DS1 in his room at 7 months, so maybe around then?

    He sleeps in a pnp.

  • Yup. She's in the PNP next to the bed... or in bed with us. Still waking up multiple times a night and I need to get as much sleep as I can for work. Ha!
  • The boy is still next to our bed. In a bassienette. He's still only 13lbs [long, skinny man] so we're not maxed out for weight yet.
Soon though, I've said "tonight's the night to sleep in your room, dude" so many times.

DD is 13 pounds and also a string bean. I tell myself this is why she doesn't STTN...

  • Olivia was until last night. We had her in her crib next to our bed. She isn't sttn but i just could not take all of the noise she makes. Even when she wasn't really walking up her movements woke me up.

Last night was the first night in her room. It didn't go too well but I have hope that in he next couple days it will get better (ugh).

  • LO is in the PnP right by our bed. She has her own room with a crib, but its so convenient to adjust her when she starts making noises, instead of having to go to another room.

Ill take that and also start using it as his excuse.

  • DS sleeps with us. He does have his own room/crib but we don't have plans to transition him in the near future. We are kind of crunchy. Not the crunch your face off for being different than me though I really enjoy cosleeping and it is the best way for us all to get the most rest right now.

  • Until we get a bigger place, LO is in her crib in our room. It's not ideal, but she sttn, so I can't complain.

  • Nope. She's been in her own room since 3 months. She is sleeping through the night, in her crib. FINALLY!!!

  • L is in her own room in her crib and I sleep so much better. I have had her in the PnP for a few nights when she was sick and I woke up every frickin 20 minutes when she would make the slightest sound.

  • She was in her own room for a week before getting sick and moving back in with us last month.  She's mostly in her RNP beside the bed.  She's a peanut (not quite 15lb yet) so she's got some time before she outgrows it.  She spends part of the night in bed with us.  She's our last, I'm kind of enjoying the extra time together.

ETA: and the "move them to their room and they'll STTN" train of thought wasn't a truth with our first two.  DD1 slept better in our room than she did in her own, until we Ferbered at 8 months.  We had to Ferber DS after he started night waking in his crib, too.  Just, you know, fyi.  I don't want the rooming-in mamas to think it's the magic fix.

  • He was until a few nights ago.  We moved him Friday night.  Last night was his 4th night in the crib in his room and he STTN!  I was so nervous to move him and didn't want to bc he wasn't STTN yet.  Wellll like everyone told me, once I moved him he did!!

This is us too! She is sttn but I haven't moved her yet. I love having her at a arms length away. I'll be sad when I finally go through with it.

  • We moved her out 10 days ago in hopes that she might sleep better in her own room. It's been hit it miss, some nights have been great with only one wake up and some are as bad as before and we're up every hour or two. DH and I are camping out upstairs in the guest room until it's consistently one wake up. Could be a while...

  • The boys will be sharing a room. Colby still wakes up way too much at night for us to make the transition yet. I'm hoping around 6 months. I'm also putting entirely too much weight on the crib transition being a magic cure for us. *crosses fingers*

  • He's still in the RNP in our room.  Will be there until he's down to one wake-up or outgrows it.

I'm too lazy to keep going to his room (which, admittedly, is right across the hall from us) to feed him. And, it's hard for me to transition back into sleep after I wake so the fewer movements/actions I make the better.

  • We are transitioning right now.  Since Friday, DS had been in his crib in his room (that she shares with DD).  Last night he was all wound up with a stuffy nose and cough, so he ended up sleeping back in the PNP in our room.

As for the "magic" of moving to the crib...for us, DS sleeps way, way better in the crib (when he's not sick).  My theory is that because he's a big kid, every time he moves in his sleep in the PNP, the whole thing shakes and wakes him up.  Rather than briefly stirring and then putting himself back to sleep, he's jarred awake and PISSED.  The crib is way more comfortable for him so he's not fully waking every time he moves in his sleep.

Just my .02, based on my experience.

  • She goes down on her own, but comes into our room at her first wake-up.  She sleeps with me once she's in our room--we used to use an Arm's Reach but she's decided she's too cool for it since learning that she can sleep there or with me.  Mommy wins over bassinet lol.
