Tylenol question

Little guy had his shots today. Doctor said Tylenol is fine to give if fussy. The kind I bought does not have a dropper and is strawberry flavored. Not sure if that's an issue and I got the wrong one. She did say that it would say ages 211 on the box and gave me a sheet with the proper dosage for infants.

Re: Tylenol question

  • The one for infants says up to 24 months &has a dropper, that includes the pedia care & store brand versions as well.  If you can't find it ask a pharmacist & they will help you.

  • It will definitely say infant up to 24 months. NOTE: there are two versions of infant on the market, and some companies even sell both kinds. The "older" version is more concentrated and comes with a dropper. The "newer" version is less concentrated and comes with an oral syringe. Obviously, the dosage, i.e. amount given to the baby, is different depending on which kind you get. Make sure you have the correct dosage info from your ped based on the version you buy. Also, be careful to buy "infant" and not the "child" meds.

  • They are all the same concentration, so the dose wont be wrong.  They used to have concentrated infant drops but they have been pulled from the market, so as long as you have something to accurately measure the dose it doesn't matter what bottle it comes from infant or childrens.  I buy the kids rather than the infant because it is less expensive, they are both 160mg/5ml.

  • Thanks ladies! In my rush this afternoon I didn't grab the infant one so I sent my H out for it though the pharmacist did say the same this as pp on mobile, can't see who it was so If i had a dropper I could have used that too but we just used the infant stuff.
