My husband and I lost our sweet son, Isaac 4.5 months ago at 38 weeks. He was delivered via emergency c-section. We have been mourning the loss of him the past few months, but also feel ready to try to get pregnant again. I have had an incredible recovery, and feel so great physically.
For those of you who had a c-section and are pregnant again, how long did you wait before you got pregnant? I've had two doctors say it would be okay after a few months, and my actual OB/GYN doctor said that 6-9 months was recommended, but she did say that 5 months would be okay.
I'm just curious how long you waited before you got pregnant after a c-section? I know it's different for everyone, etc. But I just want to know what you all have done. Thanks!
Re: Pregnant after c-section
I am so sorry about the loss of your son Isaac. There are no words.
I got pregnant 9 mos post partum
my Mom had two sections one year apart so she got pregnant 3 months post partum so I would go by what your dr. said.
My Dr. said it was okay around the 3-6 month range.
thoughts and prayers sent to you.

First I just want to say I'm sorry for the loss of your son. I lost my twins 15 months ago and they were also born via emergency c-section (at 26 weeks). My oldest twin is named Isaac too
My specialist told me there was no medical reason why I would need to wait longer than six months to get pregnant again. We started TTC at six months, but didn't end up getting pregnant until 9 months.
The only thing I've noticed is that in the beginning when my uterus was expanding my stomach would hurt along my incision line. I don't think this is necessarily a result of getting pregnant 9 months after my c-section though, from other people I've talked too they all had similar experiences even with more time between pregnancy and c/s. Past first trimester I haven't had any pain that I consider connected to my c/s.
