Feeling blessed today & need to share

I don't have too many people that I can talk about this with, so I figured I would share on here.

A friend of mine from HS, 31 years old, passed away last night. She recently got married and shortly after was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer.

Around the same time she started complaining about her symptoms, DS started to get sick. He was constantly vomitting, had diarrhea and just wasn't looking good. He had bad eczema flare ups, always had a runny nose, constant sneezing, etc.

Many of his symptoms were the same as my friends.... when he had his first endoscopy I sat with my breath held. I was terrified that he had the same thing... Thank God he didn't. (He was diagnosed with eosiniphilic esophagitis, which is a HUGE pain to handle, but after a year+ of dieting and planning, we have some kind of hold on this rare disorder.) I *HATE* that he has to go for frequent endoscopies (around ever few months... it sucks seeing him screaming & crying) and his limited diet can be difficult to work with, but he is growing like a weed and so incredibly smart!!

To top it off, we have a beautiful 6 week old baby girl. I love these two kids with everything that I am (DH too.)

I just feel very lucky and blessed to be able to have such a beautiful family. Too often I dwell on the negative (money problems, DS being sick, me being a diabetic), but today I wanted to just publicly thank God for all of the blessings he has given me.
