Napper vs bassinet

I have a pack n play that has a napper and bassinet in it. My three week old originally slept in the napper but we took it out a couple days ago and let him sleep in the bassinet portion. However he slept awful! We even tried having him nap in it when really tired and he woke immediately. The only thing I can think of is he doesn't like being flat on his back. Any ideas to help this? We would like him in his crib when he's about six weeks old.

Re: Napper vs bassinet

  • put him back in the napper. It curls up on the sides a bit probably making him feel more secure. Do you swaddle?

  • I do swaddle. However he peed thru one and spit up on the other tonight so I've been attempting to get him to sleep the past two hours! Sigh. I will sleep again, right?
  • Do you have a Rock & Play?  I swear by that thing... :)

  • We used the napper until it became too small for my DD too. Se screamed bloody murder in the bassinet and we never tried the pack n play.

Definitely get a rock n play. It conforms to their little bodies and makes them feel safe and secure, allowing for more sleep!

My DD may sleep in her rock n play until she's 10!
  • That stinks. I already bought two pack n plays!
  • My daughter won't sleep in her crib yet, and for awhile the only thing she would sleep in was either her carseat or in a stroller that has the recline feature and long bottom piece. But I recently got a pack n play with a bassinet feature and she wouldn't sleep in it being flat on her back but I found that taking a firm boppy pillow and propping it up with a blanket underneath the top portion gave my lil girl the elevation she needed to sleep.
