If you got knocked up while BF how old was your LO?

We went through a bit to get pregnant, & I am really loving BF but want to get pregnant again (she's only 4 months, I know I must be crazy!). My original plan was to stop at 6 months so I could get my period & go back to IVF.

I'm just praying I'll get pregnant so I don't have to stop. I'm just wondering how long to give it before I say OK, this isn't working, I need to stop & start really TTC.

I got pregnant twice while breast feeding! The first time was exactly on my oldest's first birthday, so they are 21 months apart. At this point he was starting to wean and only nursing 2 to 3 times a day. The second time was when my second was 10 months and still nursing 4 to 5 times a day! We are due in September!

I got pregnant while BF when my son was only 2 1/2 months old!  Didn't even realize it could happen then!  They will be 11 1/2 months apart...

You can certainly get ku while BFing.  I did twice.  I will say though if you want to BF a year then you'll want to wait until 9 months or so because your supply can take a huge dip while KU.  I think only 30% of women keep their supply through out pregnancy.  I got ku with Dd2 when DD1 was 9 months then again when DD2 was 10 months.

I got pregnant when my son was 6 months, breastfeeding around the clock.

My DD was about 7 months old when I got pregnant again.  I was able to continue BFing her until she turned a year old.

My son was 7 months old.I got pregnant the first time I ovulated so I didn't even realize I was fertile yet.  I had to stop breastfeeding though because my supply tanked.  So unfortunately, even if you get pregnant while BF'ing you may not be able to continue breast feeding.

My son was almost 8 months old, I was breast feeding  and got pregnant, I didn't think it would happen but it did!  My supply dried up pretty quickly after that.

My son was 8 months when I got ku while breastfeeding.  We weren't really trying or not trying, but just kind of threw caution to the wind at that point and had no problems getting pregnant.  My period came back regularly when he was 4 months old though.

Oh and I was able to nurse him for another 2.5 months, so we stopped at 10.5 months and introduced cows milk (after discussing with pedi) and ocntinued to use my freezer stash until he was a 1 year.

DD1 was 14 months when I got pregnant. At the time, she was still nursing 4 times a day and AF had returned at 11 months pp.

DD2 had just turned 1 when I got pregnant. She was also nursing 4 times (sometimes 5) a day. Never got my period. I just got pregnant instead.

I got ku when DS was 5 months and nursing around the clock. My supply has dipped enough that we had to supplement, but he is still nursing and I never had a completely dried up time. I never had a PP AF.

I was on mini pill, ebfing, and never got my period. 

Dd had started solid foods and I ovulated before getting AF. My supply also dried up soon after I got pg

I got pregnant when my son was 9 months old and still breastfeeding 5x a day.  I'm still breastfeeding him now...three+ months later.  Although, we are down to three times a day...in an effort to start the weening process.

I got pregnant again while BF!! AND my first was super hard to concieve....we tried for five years...nothing. Then we had my son Noah...and at ten months found out we were having another!! Ideally from everything Ive read (bc I was terrified having two under two at first!) has said two to three years apart is preferable....so I would wait a while....in the end its up to you....BF release more hormones in your body too....so....you never know!! Its good to be able to BF til at least a year....so as close to that as you can get go for it

I got pregnant when DD2 was 8 months old and miscarried that pregnancy (technically was a blighted ovum but I saw the positive and such so it was very real). That made us decide to 'try' and I got pregnant again right away when she was 9 months.

I was EBFing at 7 months when I had my first PP period, and I was still BFing 4 times a day when I got pregnant, but as pps said, my milk dried up a lot when I got pregnant and LO self weaned, he stopped completely this week , so if you want to keep BFing for a certain amount of time I would keep that in mind.

DD was 9.5 mo old....we were not trying and thought it would be impossible for us to conceive due to my one blocked tube and endometriosis...my doc said it was a miracle we conceived our first!  I'm shocked, excited and terrified to have 2 under 2  Good luck!

I was blessed with b/g twins that were born when DS1 was 22 months. I didnt know at the time u are more likely to ovulate more than one egg while breastfeeding. =

I got my first period when DD was 10 months old, had two cycles, and then got pregnant. As others have experienced, my supply dried up almost immediately.
