I do it when LO is napping, or in the early morning. Really anytime I know she is going to be asleep for at least 30 minutes, I try to get some exercising in.
After I got cleared at my 6 week appointment I woke up early for 2 or 3 days, then couldn't do it any more. The next week I got up early for 2 or 3 days again, then couldn't do it anymore. The next week I got up early one day. Worked out during morning nap time the next day, afternoon nap time the next day, and right before bed the next 3 days. This week so far it's just been before bed.
So basically I have no routine. I tried. But getting up before both kids was just too much, especially since I don't really know when they'll wake up. So I'm just taking it day by day. I really want to do mornings since that's more beneficial, but I think after my kids are in bed for the night is going to work better for me.
and i thought i loved you then <a href="http://daisypath.com/">

I have been putting exercise on the back burner as of right now. I wanted to do a stay at home DVD for 30 days then once I'm all done bleeding then I was going to start going to the gym but I can't get up any earlier just to wake up and exercise and by the time I get time at night I feel like its to late to be jumping around and then having to actually fall asleep after that. Hopefully, once I go back to work in April as well I will have more of a routine with my husband and kids schedules that I can squeeze it in!
I go to the gym a few nights a week when DH gets home from work. It's nice because I can get away for a bit and DH gets some good one on one time with LO. He does the bedtime routine and gives a bottle of BM in these nights.
My gym has childcare available. Before I had my DD in December I was working and the mom to a 2 year old. My gym has childcare available. So I would put DS in the daycare there and go on Saturday and Sunday morning. I was in and out in an hour and so I didn't feel so bad about the time away from him ( plus exercise is a big stress reliever for me so it made me a much nicer mommy.) I would go on a third day immediately after work and just leave my son at his daycare (it is open until 6 pm) for a bit longer. We would also typically do something active together as a family bike riding, snowshoeing or walking 1-2 days/week.
Now with two little ones I am still relying on the gym daycare. I try to go three days a week and I have since my DD was 4 weeks old. I also try to walk with DS in the stroller and DD in an ergo, or if DH is off we each put a kid in a carrier and snowshoe. In a pinch I will play tag with my son or do some songs/dance that involve lifting kids and running ( we have fun and I get some exercise too). Before kids I would exercise in the evenings but I find that I just don't have the energy to exercise after the kids are in bed, or to get up earlier to go. For me the only answer was to build it into the hours that I am already up. At first I did feel guilty about the time away from DS/DD but it is only 3 hours per week, and having that time to myself allows me to be a more present, fun, less stressed mom when I am with them.
If I am doing cross training, I put on my workout clothes first thing so I am ready for her morning nap. I found a ton of 1520 minute routines on Pinterest with squats, lunges, etc. DD doesn't like to nap anywhere but my arms so it's a struggle to even squeeze that in. I am still working on finding time to run. She is fussy in the evening and won't let the hubby hold her for more than a few minutes. This is not what I expected it to be like, I have a half marathon in less than three months and the longest I've run is 20 min!

During the week while DH is at work I try to be ready when she goes down or a nap. I do 20 - 30 minutes. That's stuff I can do at home.
I'm also taking her for walks right after her afternoon feeding
On the weekends when dh is home I try to go outside (after 6 weeks I'll go to the gym) right after her morning feeding.
