Annoying Food Network Chefs

I just got into a debate with someone about who the worst Food Network chef is.  By worst, I mean personality-wise.  Personally, Alex Guarnaschelli is my least favorite with the Barefoot Contessa and Giada De Laurentiis as close followers.  They're just too pretentious and full of themselves for me.  Who annoys you the most?

I used to not be able to stand Ina Garten at all, but she grew on me a tiny bit. I don't like the way Giada talks, but I can tolerate her. But the one person who I refuse to watch is Anne Burrell. She talks to the food and about the food as if she was about to have sex with it. Just gross.

DD LOVES Anne Burrell's hair! It looks like a blonde version of DH. I can't stand the Barefoof Contessa. No one cooks like she does, or as often, or for random people.

The Neely's, I think thats their name. The black couple that does home cooking. Anyway they act so sugary sweet its gross and fake. They are always saying stuff like "you baby are all the sugar I need" and sure i'll chop your carrots for a kiss, anyway its seems incredibly fake and I wouldn't be able to stand being in the room with them.

OP i agree with you except for Giada! Rachel Ray annoys me with her "yumm-o" talk and I can't stand how Guy Fieri talks with his mouth full of food. Gross. Despite my annoyance of them, I still watch their shows.

Ugh Sandra Lee is just awful.  Her recipes suck, and I just can't stand the way she talks...she just sounds...dumb.

beyond envious! i would love his food.  watched him on a differnt network on the show "Mancaves". his wife had them come in, and he was super funny/nice like he seems to be on ICA. just seems a lot more down to earth than some of the others.

watched "worst Chefs in America" last night, and Bobby and Anne bug the crap out of me.  her hair would never be ok.

Years ago, I had a dream that he was giving me a cooking lesson and I was chopping onions or something and I turned to look at him and he attacked my face in a full on mack session. I've never been able to look at him the same way again. Hehe

I know, I never thought of him that way but then he attacked my face in my dream! That's why I can never look at him the same way again. It's kind of funny, like we have this weird secret. But I chalked it up at the time to watching waaaay too much food network. 

I met Tyler Florence once about 10 years ago at a book signing. We took a picture together and we look like a really cute couple. My husband begs to disagree.

 

I knew I loved both of you. I LOOVEEE Alton Brown. He's so smart. He loves food, and knows how to cook, but also knows all about the science aspect of food. Did you know he originally majored in drama, and acting? Then he decided that he wanted to learn food science. amazing.

 I love me some Mike Symon. Him and I are meant to be because we're both half Greek.

There was a little boy who wanted to meet Barefoot Contessa through the Make A Wish Foundation.  She said no to him and refused to meet him even though it was his wish.  When word got out about this, pressure was put on her and she then decided to agree, well, the boy chose to go swimming with dolphins instead.  Knowing this about her makes me dislike her so much more, I can't stand to see her.

I haven't gotten to watch Food Network in a long time (it's one of the few things I miss about cable) but the one's who have always really annoyed me to no end are Paula Dean, Guy Fieri, and Ina Garten....sometimes I don't even know why, they just grind my last nerve in to the ground. I actually really like Good Eats with Alton Brown. The one's I miss the most are the people from Ace of Cakes...

Honestly, the only ones I like are Alton Brown, Giada and Ina. I used to love watching Rachael Ray. I like that her philosophy is that if you just spend a few extra minutes a night, you can have a homemade meal.

I LOVE Michael Symon!!!

I have met him and he is one of the nicest "celebrities" I have ever met! He spoke with everyone that was around him and was so courteous.

Guy Fieri is so rude. He had himself roped off so that he would not have to talk to anyone other than the companies that were coming through to purchase his line of cookware.

I love Anna Olson, she seems so sweet.  Her husband (Michael Olson) was the wild game chef for Canada in the Rough, I liked him too. 

I also love Michael Smith from Chef at Home, his cooking style is a lot like mine with not really using recipes and being very laid back.

i've never really been a big food network watcher until maternity leave.  i caught one of her episodes and she annoyed the crap out of me.  one her "recipes" involved making a boxed cake, cutting it open and smearing some snazzed up container whipped cream in it.  seriously, lady?  you have a show for this crap?  i wouldn't take that to a pot luck.

i never watched his show, but i caught him and he wife on the rachel ray show as guests.  there was this little bit about their relationship and how they met.  he seemed sweet in it....definitely gave off a good vibe.

I like Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, but don't watch any other Guy Fieri show.

I can tolerate Ina Garten.

I like Giada's recipes but her shows drive me crazy.  Her kitchen is too white and perfect.

--- Ha! I was just saying this exact thing to my husband on Saturday - she was making baked beans and suggested "good" ketchup! Seriously bro, ketchup is ketchup, I'll use Walmart brand if I want to. Ketchup, ffs. --- I don't like Ina Garten because it seems like she's trying to be so sensual - Barefoot Contessa? Why she thinks to call herself that is beyond me. The name implies some kind of romantic whimsy that I just don't see in her. --- I'm a big fan of Tyler Florence's face - I have a HUGE crush on that guy. His show is actually kind of annoying to watch. --- I like RR, but I can't stand that everything has to "bake off," "go down in the bottom of," or "go up on top of" something else. Also, I have a cook book of hers, and everytime the ingredient is listed as EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) Why abbreviate if you're going to spell it out EACH time? --- I also like Bobby Flay because he's a jerk and I like guys like that. --- Everyone else has varying degrees of douchebaggery, but tolerable.
