Working Moms

In-Home Day Care Providers

Any moms out there do in-home day care? I'm currently a teacher and planning to take kids on in my home about 6-12 months after my first is born (July). I'd love to hear from other moms who have done something similar. I'm most curious about the logistics, legalities, tax and financial implications, and any other advice you have/things I should consider before going down this path. Thanks so much!

Re: In-Home Day Care Providers

  • I was laid off by my school district for a year and ran a licensed inhome daycare. It was a lot more challenging than I anticipated and ultimately I jumped on a chance to get back into the classroom. I would be happy to share more with you if you want specifics. Just PM me.

  • I am not a Mom yet but I am a licensed in-home daycare provider.  I have a home I own dedicated to only daycare for the past 8 years. I have my CDA and with my partner we care for 12 children.

PM me if you have any questions.  I learned too much the hard way to not try and pay it forward!
