I have been to all but 2 appointments by myself. DH came to the a/s, and to an unplanned appointment I made due to severe RLP...which now I'm not sure is RLP..but that's another story entirely. He is out of town several nights per week for work, and the days are never consistent. I try to schedule my appointments on when I think he might be home. If he goes, he goes, if he doesn't, I'm fine. Not sure that I will be ok with going alone after 36 weeks, but for now, I'm good.
I schedule all of my appts so DH can go. We usually run other errands after/before the appointment, so it works out. He did not go for one appointment so far, though he was in the car, as he had just been injured, and he was in extreme pain. He did go to the U/S that was before my OB appointment though. Those he would not think of missing.
I do not have any family local, so having DH there makes me happy. I could do it alone, but choose not. too. I did do my 3 hr glucose alone though, and that was super super boring
I have been going by myself too. My mom was going to go with me last u/s but it was a spur of the moment appointment. Hubby works in the city and it's hard to get time off. He will be going with me to the anatomy scan though.
Pick one big appt and have him ditch work for that one - It's hard for working couples, I feel ya!

I agree with a majority of the other posters. My husband took care of me during first tri when I was sick as a dog and he is so caring ? I know he will make a wonderful father, he loves children. Him attending every doctor?s appointment does not make him father of the year. I don?t think you have to be independent to attend a doctor?s appointment by yourself ? we are all grown women who have the responsibility of taking care of a child so why would we feel the need to have someone attend a doctor?s appointment with us? Understanding certain situations such as ultrasound, high risk, etc are different. I guess I am just surprised when women can?t go to a non eventful appointment on their own

We have a construction business- hubby is always in the field and I run the office. He has not come to any appointments yet, but will be coming when we are supposed to find out the gender of the baby. We just cannot swing taking any days off right now.
I've had two appointments thus far. The first one was an ultrasound and then later in the day, they took blood and all that stuff. I had my mom go with me because otherwise I would be alone with DD. I didn't want to be alone with her during the ultrasound.
The 2nd appointment, it was just me and DD. She did great, I was very proud.
The next appointment will be the a/s and DD and DH will be attending.
If its just a check-up where they'll just get my BP, weigh me, etc, I don't want him to take off work for it. But for anything that will last more than an hour, I try to schedule it around when he can get off. He doesn't have personal days or sick days....technically...but his boss is pretty nice when he tells him that I have an appt for our baby and would like to be there. I'd be a mess if he couldn't be there and would see if my BFF would come with me instead.
My DH is deployed so he's missing every appointment AND the birth. I'd go by myself either way because of his work schedule and I am perfectly okay with that. If appointments are only 510minutes why miss a full/half day of work?
I go by myself unless we have an ultrasound scheduled. I did however schedule my next follow-up appointment an hour after my anatomy scan for 2 reasons. One, so I can do it all in one day and two, I thought my husband should meet my OB at least once before I give birth.

I'm sorry, I have my emotional days as well.
