Baby is 3wks5days.
Overview; Since she was 2 weeks, she will only sleep around 30min at a time during the day. She does this 3-4 times between 6am and 7pm. At night she will take two 4 hour stretches of sleep. I'm EP (Makes me feel better to see what's actually going into her tummy.) and started with just 2oz. Switched to 2.5oz at about 3wks.. Napping/sleeping/nap routine didn't change. Yesterday started 3oz. Still, nothing. She may spit up slightly every other feeding. I burp her throughout the bottle and hold her upright for about 15min. Shortly after she eats she clearly shows signs of being tired and gets very fussy. She will fall asleep for just minutes at a time.
She just seems so exahusted to me and from what I'm researching, she needs more sleep. I just don't know how to help her get to that point.
I'm sorry for the long post.
TIA!
Re: Please help; Confused about naps.
Where is she sleeping? If you are sticking to the crib, might be time to try other options. A swing may have good results, or even adding blackout curtains or a sound machine... I've now had two kids that sleep better with me in my bed, so that's what we do! Whatever gets us all some much needed snooze time!
This. I also have a cat napper. Sometimes the only thing that will put him to sleep is if I strap him into the ergo and clean the house. It's kind of nice because I get to be productive and most of the time he will sleep for a stretch after that.
I agree with all of the suggestions given by the PP. In addition (because I tried all of those) I have found that my DS will sleep for hours after I tightly swaddle him and then lightly bounce up and down on a yoga ball. He usually falls asleep after a few minutes and then I'll put him in his PnP or his swing.
Hope that helps!
