Arm's reach co sleeper

I'm looking for any input on these..I am planning on ordering one but can't decide between the mini and original or if I even need one!  It seems like it'd be great and convenient..any thoughts would be great!

Re: Arm's reach co sleeper

  • We have the mini and I love it.  I think LO likes the small size.  We use it as a bassinet not a cosleeper.  Only because our bedroom is really cold and my side is extra cold so baby sleeps closer to the door.  Plus I like being able to roll her over to DH's side as a little hint to "take care of it" so I can sleep sometimes.

  • I don't have one, but it's one thing I definitely wish I'd gotten.  There are so many times that my LO wakes up on the transition out of our bed and into her pack and play (literally 3 feet away).  It would be much easier (and keep me more sane) if I could just nestle her in her bed without the issue of standing up while holding her.

If I were you I'd go for the original because it has longer utility since it can also be a playpen, plus I think it has a higher weight limit.

  • We have the mini and it is amazing. I'm a FTM so I don't have anything else to compare it to but love that she is right there to feed, comfort and ease my crazy ftm mind when I check to make sure she's still breathing. Sometimes she's fussy and all she needs is my hand on her belly to comfort her which is much easier when I can still lay in bed while doing so. We chose the mini because it fit better but even if we had the space if probably still pick the mini. We were gifted a separate pack n play.

  • I registered for the mini because it was cheaper. I didn't even consider size, but it was lucky because anything larger would not have fit beside our bed. I've really liked having LO right next to me, but TBH she rarely sleeps in it because she's much quieter and I sleep more if she's actually in bed with me. That being said, I am super happy with the mini and am glad we have it.

  • We have the mini - we got it for DS when we lived in a tiny apartment and that was all that would fit in our room.  We have always used it as a bassinet though - our bed frame prevented it from getting right up against the bed, and there would have been about an inch gap.  We have a separate pack and play that they all used when we traveled or when they got bigger and needed to be contained.

  • I have the original and love it. I've been using it for five years now. The great thing about the original is that you can use it as a pnp or a bed for a toddler well past the co-sleeping days. Mine has been used by one of my kids for the full 5 years because of this!

  • I used a bassinet with DD and I hated that it didn't have a drop side.  I just made do with it for the 3 1/2 months she was in our room.

With DS I got a mini arms reach and loved it.  I loved it a lot.  I had the side by my bed lowered and it meant that I could rest a hand on DS as needed to resettle him.  He was in our room a little longer than DD due to space constraints and I was really glad to have the sleeper.  I nurse and while I never nursed in bed with DD I fell asleep nursing DS in the glider at 2 weeks and I never nursed him in the glider again.  I just nursed right there in bed and it was so much easier.

  • I have the regular size and I love it. DS did not though, so he slept in the RnP for 2 weeks then we transitioned back to cosleeper. Be prepared to have a few options just in case! It's so easy for bf'ng purposes, plus I love having him so close to me :)
  • I'm selling mine. I loved it for the reason it was connected to our bed but its been more of a clean blanket holder and baby sleeps in bed with us. We have the clearvue.
