Baby gear item: Angelcare sound/motion monitor, Chicco Keyfit Caddy (goes with our Keyfit 30 car seat for short/indoor outings), BOB Revolution stroller (for outdoor walks), Diaper Champ.
Baby/kids clothing brand: I like the Carter's onesie and pant sets now that DS is starting to work towards becoming mobile, since they are fairly lightweight and seem to minimize restriction of movement.
Item you always recommend to new moms: One piece of advice I heard when I was putting together our registry was not to buy a "travel system," but buy the car seat and stroller separate - since "travel system" strollers are heavy and usually aren't the greatest. I found it to be great advice that I'm glad I took. It's more expensive that way, but I figure you use car seat/stroller so much that it's worth spending more to get something that's really nice to use. I highly recommend buying a lightweight "Snap 'N Go" stroller frame to go with the infant seat - either the Baby Trend, or a couple of car seat manufacturers make ones that are specifically compatible with their seats.
I also love this site for baby gear recommendations, as I used it to build our registry and was very happy with many of our selections: https://www.lucieslist.com/

I could have written this almost word for word! I also love our Chicco Keyfit Caddy; we took the same advice re: travel systems.
We love our Snuggabunny swing, a+a swaddle blankets, and the Chicco Keyfit Caddy.
I like Carters or babyGap for a splurge.
I also recommend Lucie's List for gear and other mommy advice!

Baby gear item? Boppy, Rock N Play, Medela PISA pump, Beco carrier. During the newborn stage, they were essential for us! At 10 months, less seems" essential"....for us right now, it's the lullaby CD that we play before ever nap and bedtime. He recognizes it and it makes him fall asleep! (most of the time)Baby/kids clothing brand? Eh. Whatever I'm given as a hand me down. I mostly prefer Carters--they fit well. Oshkosh fits smaller, which bugs me! Item you always recommend to new moms? Besides the above, I recommend getting a second hand crib-soother...made the transition to the crib easier! Would love to hear about all of those "I wish I had..." stories!
Also my favorite item is my travel system. It is awesome. I never understand people saying they suck. My graco one is amazing. I am still using it for #2.

Baby gear item? Baby K'Tan carrier, Baby Jogger City Mini stroller,
Baby/kids clothing brand? H&M, Carter, & Gap
Item you always recommend to new moms? Baby K'Tan, City Mini, Playtex Drop ins (4oz outter part but a larger 'bag' great for travel), "click n Go" strollers for the first 6 (or so) months,.... oh I have so many more things but I just can't think of them right now.
Wish I had ... a travel boppy (packing a normal boppy was not fun) & you new moms now days have a lot of cool new things.
Also my favorite item is my travel system. It is awesome. I never understand people saying they suck. My graco one is amazing. I am still using it for #2.
Baby gear item? I love my Boppy! When I first started breastfeeding in the hospital & was using a pillow I though, "this isn't too bad" and then when I used the Boppy for the first time I changed my mind in a heartbeat!
Baby/kids clothing brand? Carters. Their stuff is cute, decent quality, available at lots of places, fits well and not as expensive as clothes from exclusive baby stores like Gymboree. I have gotten some cute things off the clearance rack at GAP but I can't afford to buy their stuff brand new - it's not worth those prices when kiddo will only wear it for a couple months. I'm also starting to like The Childrens Place. They have cute stuff, good sales and it's not as expensive as Gymboree.
For diapers I love my Bum Genius 4.0 pocket diapers! They are cute, environmentally friendly, healthier for my baby and best of all I save a ton of money not buying paper diapers!
Item I recommend? Cloth diapers & a Boppy Pillow. I seriously don't understand why more people don't do cloth diapers. For a few hundred dollars you have all the diapers you will need from birth to potty training. And if you register for them and/or tell friends & relatives that you want them it makes the cost so much less!
Baby gear item?
I loved my Moby when dd was really little. Now that she is bigger, we just bought a beco over the weekend and it is great! I'm glad that she likes to be carried and is a lil snugglebunny! For a larger gear item, I agree with pp about getting a stroller separate from a travel system. We have a mama's and papas and it is gloriously smooth to push! I can't wait for the spring!
Baby/kids clothing brand?
Love me some gap baby. I was also just looking for an easter dress and came across the brand baby boden... its really adorable and vintage looking!
Item you always recommend to new moms?
AA swaddle blankets. Or cloth diapers. We use Charlie Bananas, Flips and AIOs mostly. Seriously the easiest way to save money!!
Gear: I really like the Boppy even though I only nursed for 2 weeks. It saves my arms when feeding.
Brands: Carter's and Baby Gap
Recommendations: a good stroller to go for walks and swing, rnp, and bouncer. Get all from hand me downs or register for them all. You never know what your baby will enjoy.
