HugAMonkey Wrap

Anyone use this with their baby?

I saw someone with it the other day and it looked pretty neat (kind of like a Moby but without the process of tying it on).  But, I could also see where it might not be as "secure" as a Moby, possibly.

I wonder if anyone had any experience either way with this or heard anything about it.  While I wouldn't use it with DD now, I'm just wondering for future kiddos!

TIA

Re: HugAMonkey Wrap

  • I hadn't heard of that specific one, but after a quick google, it looks like a pouch sling. I don't have much experience with that type of carrier, I did have one when DS was first born, and used it a couple of times. I preferred my Moby for extended wear, although the sling was convenient when I needed to put it on quick. But then I switched to a ring sling, and loved it, I felt like I could get it more comfortable and secure because it's adjustable, where the sling isn't.

I have a friend who used the Baby K'tan wrap instead of a Moby, it really is a wrap that you don't have to wrap on. She really liked it, an I tried it once and it seemed really secure and comfortable. If I'd known about them before buying my Moby, I would have gotten that instead.

If you do want a carrier to use now, you could look into a structured carrier like the Ergo or Boba. I use the Boba with my DS, and it's still comfortable and distributes his weight good, so he doesn't get heavy.
