Becoming a doula?

I have decided to become a certified doula. I just signed up for a doula training workshop and i am super excited! 9 months ago I had an unmedicated hospital birth with a doula and it just really inspired me to want to become certified. Anyway, i was just hoping some doulas could check in and tell me what it is like to get certified, how you found your first few clients, etc? I am an optometrist currently working parttime, so not looking for this to be a fulltime career, but super excited about the idea of helping people have a good birth experience.
