DS's GI nurse recommended that we give DS 2 tsp in his morning bottle everyday for a couple days, then go down to 1 tsp until we have our next appt in a few weeks. I HATE to have to give him another "medication" so to speak. He's already on Prevacid, gets antacid on an asneeded basis, gets suppositories when he's super uncomfortable from not pooping, etc. But if it works we will try it. Does anyone else have their babies on miralax? I feel so bad for DS when I can tell he has to poop and strains and turns beet red and just gets out a small play doh ball. Any advice is appreciated!

Re: Miralax?
We use miralax with our little problem pooper. It works great, but may take a day or two to get things going.
Have you been feeding solids? I have found two things that have helped a lot. 1) DS gets oatmeal every morning for the fiber in it. 2) we give him water with all of his meals. I had a hard time getting him to drink water to begin with so I mixed it with pear juice (he loves all things pear). He also prefers you to squirt water into his mouth (DH's discovery of course) That has really straightened things out for him and we haven't needed miralax in a few weeks now.
