It has grown on me quite a bit. It is my adopted son #2's name and it fits him very well. I do not feel it is a stuck up name at all but that is probably because my child is NOT stuck up, spoiled or bratty.
I grew up with a kid named Sterling. For the longest time I didn't think it was a real name, but it kind of grew on me. I like it, but I agree with the PP who said it comes off as pretentious.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Mel, really, if you can't figure that one out you probably don't belong on The Bump. Not everything needs to be quoted. I know you didn't get to 3,000 plus posts by relying on quote trees.
I actually like Sterling. I think I've posted this on this board before but I had a REALLY good looking waiter named Sterling once and it had been the first time I had ever heard the name. So it has a positive association for me.
Re: Sterling
Agreed.
And I see what you did there, MJ. Clever.
