Babies: 6 - 9 Months

BLW and Fruit

Okay, so we've been doing BLW for 2 months now. DS loooves berries. Strawberries, raspberries, and black berries.

I offer him a berry after he's no longer interested in the "main course." I gues as kind of a dessert? Anyway, he'll always eat it. I offer a few more until he doesn't finish one or no longer shows interest.

Would you limit the fruit to just one or two pieces? Only offer fruit at a certain time of day? Or would you "trust" that if baby wants lots of fruit, it's because baby needs lots of fruit?

How do you handle fruit?

ETA: I offer a full compliment of food groups throughout the day and I don't offer fruit at every meal.

Re: BLW and Fruit

  • I don't limit fruit when I give it to my son.  He eats until he turns away or I notice he's just playing with it and no longer eating.

  • I am the same as the pp. Hayden loves fruit and I usually give her some at each meal time. Blueberries are the current favourite, she can't get enough of them!
