Success after IF

**~**TTC Again Check In**~**

Hello Ladies! This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently TTC again, either on their own, or via injectibles, IUI, IVF, adoption, etc.

TTC again, even after successfully bringing home a LO (or multiple LOs) is a stressful process for all of us, and this group is meant to allow us the opportunity to provide support and suggestions to one another, and to receive the same in return.

A check-in will be posted every Thursday. Please send me a PM or reply to the check-in post if you would like to be added to the group. The more the merrier! Let's get this board going again.

Each check-in will provide the opportunity for you to provide an update as to where you currently are in your TTC journey following SAIF and a response to the QOTW.

QOTW: How did you come up with your LO(s) name(s)? You don?t have to share the name(s). I am just curious as to the source ? baby name book, family, etc.

Re: **~**TTC Again Check In**~**

  • Update - Have my a/s today at 5 pm and I'm so excited! We are having a small gender reveal for family next Saturday and I'm now seriously regretting that decision. I would love to cancel but I can't at this point. DH and I have been debating all day about finding out ourselves tonight, and just surprising our family at the reveal. Ugh! Praying for some willpower! Would it be terrible to just find out tonight and then surprise everyone else next Saturday? Please say no!

QOTW - We knew someone (not a close friend) that named their daughter the same name and we both loved it. When we found out we were having a girl we went round and round with names until one day DH remembered the name and that was it!

  • Yay for reaching V Day! I am so happy. :) Wishing all the best to the SAIFers who are cycling! QOTW - DH and I didn't name DS until after he was born. We had a huge list of names that we narrowed down to about six when I went into labor. DS was born at 12:40am. That night after he was born we narrowed it down to three names. The next morning we spent some more time with DS and chose the name that seemed to fit him. We won't choose the girls' names until after they are born either.

  • Update - not much to report. My next growth scan is in 2 weeks, and I will have my 28 week labwork done then. Sorry for my late post and general lack of posting lately. I am busy and stressed.

QOTW - DH actually came up with DS' name pretty early on in my pregnancy with him, but I couldn't stand it! The longer I was pregnant, and the more I got to "know" DS, the name just started to grow on me and feel like a perfect fit. We have names for the twins picked out already (we chose two that were not on the top 100 list of baby names for 2012), but we aren't sharing them with anyone until after they are born.

  • I have an appointment on Tuesday and am really looking forward to talking with a new doc! Other than that nothing new to report ... just waiting to ovulate, doing acu and taking horse pills. Blah.

QOTW: This is kinda a funny one for me. DH and I were laying on the beach one day when we were seriously probably 21 and 22 and I was reading a People mag. I came across a small article about Jeff Gordon who had just welcomed a baby girl by the name of Ella Sofia. I am NOT a racing fan and I don't think I have ever even really watched racing in my entire life, however I thought that was the most beautiful name I had ever heard for a baby girl. It stuck in my head and when we found out we were having a girl I started calling her that immediately after the ultrasound. We just switched the spelling of her middle name to a ph instead of the f ;)

I later read that he had a baby boy and named him Leo Benjamin - which I also LOVED, however DH really dislikes the name Leo so that was scratched off of the list.  Apparently I have a thing for Jeff Gordon.

With DS the name Jack had been in the back of my mind since we got pg with DD. I have always thought that was such a cute name for a baby boy. A middle name was a bit more tough for us, so we just decided to go with Nicholas, which is a family name.

I already have a boy and girl name picked out for if we ever have anymore kids, but I realize I'm getting a little ahead of myself with that ;)

  • Update: 2WW is almost over! Beta is Monday. I could go on Sunday, but DH works and I can't call him during his shift and I would have to take LO with me to get my blood draw which would be a pain, so we decided it would be better if I just wait until Monday. I won't test, so I'm just trying to stay busy so I won't obssess over "symptoms."

QOTW: LO's first name is the name of my great-great-great Grandmother. I like that it sounds like some popular names, but is a little different. DH choose her middle name. We didn't decide on the name until after she was born and we actually hadn't even put the two names together until then.

  • Update: I'm super anxious in the 2WW right now. I plan on testing Sunday or Monday. With DS I got a BFP on 11dpo and that would be Monday. Hoping to report some good news next week!! I feel great about this cycle and timing.

QOTD: DH and I were brainstorming names and its literally the only name we could agree on. If we ever have another boy I have no idea what we'd name him. Boys names are tough!

  • No update here, still trying.  I'm feeling pretty emotional about it, frustrated, scared, anxious.  It's pretty consuming.  I'm glad I'm not alone though, so thank you everyone since I know everyone here understands.  None of my family or friends struggle with IF so it's nice to have you all.  I'm really considering going back to Shady Grove for a consult.  I've only been waiting because I know that my insurance won't even look at a claim unless we have been TTC for 1 yr +.  I know I used most of what the insurance would cover with DD, but at this point I'm so anxious that I'm considering starting the process.

QOTW:  DD's name is Morgan.  I joke with people and say she is named after Morgan Freeman (since DD is both a girl and very pale).  It's really from Morgan Le Fay.  We were also careful not to pick any of the top 10 names.  The other choice was Madison which was easily shot down due to the top 10 "rule".

I can't do it Sunday, because I can't call DH. (He works in a call center, so he's not allowed to have a cell phone at work.) And I just can't let him sit at work until 2:30 pm and know that I got results (since the clinic closes at noon, they would have to call me in that morning). I know its totally crazy, but he doesn't work on Monday, so then I can just call him at home once I get the call back. This is comforting to me.

  • We had our NT scan on Monday and everything looked great!  Next u/s is March 25th to check my cervical length.

QOTW:  We looked through name books, but ultimately most of our current names and DS's name are combinations of family names and names we've just heard over the years that we liked.

  • Update: Waiting on the results of my MaterniT21 testing, which I should get next week.  Planning to wait until next Sunday to reveal the sex to friends and family (myself included), at my 40th birthday brunch.  I want to get a cake with icing saying "Its a...."  Just hoping I can keep from peeking!

QOTW: DD's name is a combination of my and DH's first names...and yes, it is an actual, normal, classic name, not some weirdly spelled made-up/strange-sounding name.  In fact, a friend of ours with the same last name (no relation), married a girl with the same first name 3 months before DD was born, so there are two of them, a generation apart, with the same first and last name.  DD's MN is my grandmother's first name.

  • My appointment went well on Thursday not much to report.  I go back in 4 weeks and then start going every 2 weeks after that.  My next growth scan and fetal echo are both on Friday so I'm excited to see baby girl again!

QOTW: I was reading names to DH from a baby book and he stopped me when I got to Roman and said he liked it and I did too.  It took us awhile to commit to his name but we never came up with something we liked more.  This time we have two names (Paige and Brooke) but we can't agree on one.  Paige is my favorite and Brooke is DH's.  I'm pretty sure we won't decide until she's born and we see which name fits her.
