I'm 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant. At 9.2 weeks was my last appt with RE we heard a beautiful heartbeat and saw the baby move an arm! Then at 10 weeks I had slight brown discharge but had to go to regular ob because I was discharged from RE care. He did an internal exam and said all looked fine but I had no ultrasound done and I have to wait till 12.5 weeks for my next us. I'm scared about silent mc. I desperately need to hear that hb!!!
Re: Scared...
Well, when you are a little further along, you can get a home doppler (they are about $50) and that should ease some of your anxieties at that point, but I remember that I was pretty far along (maybe 16 weeks or so) before I could regularly find the heartbeat with it...definately not at 11 weeks.
I don't know how big the city you live in is, but if it is a bigger city, you could always pay to go to one of those places that does the elective ultrasounds.

Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
We all have been there and understand how terrifying it is when you finally get pg after trying for so long. Hang in there, it does get better in time and as you get more comfortable with the fact that you are actually one of those millions of pregnant women out there!
The later it is when you confirm the HB is still there, the lower your miscarriage risk. For example, if you see the HB at 6 weeks, your risk of m/c is still 9.4%, but after confirming that it is still there at 9 weeks, the miscarriage risk is only .5% (one-half of one percent) and it remains that same level throughout the remainder of pregnancy. So, basically, right now, your risk is as low as it can get. I hope that makes you feel better.
P.S. The stats come from a National Institute of Health study. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18310375
I'm sorry you are going through this.
Did the spotting stop? Something similar happened to me during my last pregnancy and I totally freaked out. My OB got me in for an appointment that same day and did a check, but didn't order an ultrasound either because he said the bleeding had stopped and everything looked closed. I really wish he would have ordered an ultrasound too, but he seemed confident that everything was okay and I too waited until the NT scan. The cause was unknown, but everything ended up being fine.
I also agree with Dragonfly though ... if you are really that worried, you feel differently, or if you are continuing to have the discharge I say either demand an ultrasound or go somewhere else. Having a doctor who understands and is willing to empathize with anxiety due to IF and other issues is imperative.
Good luck.
With IF you are finally on the right side if the odds.
I also had spotting, but it was bright red for three days at 13.5w. My OB office wouldn't even let me come in until I insisted, and then they only listened on the doppler.
My mom said with her miscarriages there was pretty intense cramping, accompanying the bright red blood. I think you have a lot of reason to be hopeful. Hugs!
