i have both an ergo and an infantino Mei Tai carriers. I haven't used the ergo yet, but find the infantino pretty comfy. I got both used so neither have instructions and didn't have great luck finding stuff online...so here's my questions...
Should dd be in a "froggy style" carry in either carrier or can I wrap her legs around me so she's sitting? With the ergo I have the infant insert and have NO clue how to use it or if I still need it.
DD is 11 wo and 11 lb 4 oz (two weeks ago). She has pretty good head control too if that makes a difference.
TIA!!!
Re: help with carriers please
You can definitely do legs out in the mei tai. My post here has instructions on how to get the right fit - https://www.becomingmamas.com/mei-tai-101-using-a-mei-tai-with-your-newborn/.
The ergo is a little tricker - she's definitely not big enough to go straight in the carrier but you can try rolling a small blanket for her to sit on. You want her to be supported to the knees but her legs should swing easily at the knee - otherwise they are overspread. Also you don't want the carrier to come higher than the midline of her ear.
