We just got an e-vite to DH's college buddy's wedding....which requires us to book a round trip flight...on Memorial Day weekend. I just feel like if you're asking people to fly upstate for your wedding, pay for hotel rooms, give a gift, and fly home, can't you at least send a proper wedding invitation?
The e-vite also includes a request for Home Depot gift cards.
Am I wrong for side-eyeing this??? Please tell me if I am!
Re: E-vites (not baby shower)
I think an invitation says alot about an event.
I wouldn't want an evite for my wedding.
Hopefully the actual invite is in the mail.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

Oh wow. Are you sure it wasn't a "Save the Date" kind of thing? I'm hoping it was...which would have been OK...but the Home Depot request was way out of line. You are not wrong for side-eyeing it. I would too and probably not go unless your DH is VERY close to this person.
On another note...if the wedding is in like 2-3 weeks maybe you were on the "B" list...hence the email rather then a paper invite.
I don't care how eco-friend a person is...a wedding invitation demands a PAPER invite...and there are some that use recycled paper.
No it's not a save the date - it's the actual invitation. The wedding is in a few months and everyone got the same invite.
DH and the groom lived together with the rest of his group - all of whom are expected to attend the bachelor party two weeks before the wedding (this was a fb invite).
Thankfully DH isn't planning on flying up for the bachelor party, but since the groom flew down for our wedding he feels obligated to do the same.
As for the Home Depot gift card - I'm over that one....tacky gets tacky - I'll be ordering a gift card using my points. Feel free to flame for that one but I really couldn't care less.
