what do you feed a baby that doesnt want formula??

My daughter just turned 6 months and for the past week or so she hasn't been the least bit interested in her bottle/formula. She was drinking 6 ounces but now will only drink four but will eat cereal and baby food til the cows come home. I try and try to get her to drink at least five but she just lets it oze out of the side of her mouth. Is this normal at this age or should she be drinking more instead of less??

Formula should be your baby's main source of nutrition until 1 year. Solids are just practice and aren't a good enough source of nutrition. I'd try another brand of formula and back off on solids until you get your LO back on formula. I'd talk to your pedi asap if your LO won't take formula. GL!

I struggle with DD daily to drink her formula! She just isnt a big eater and babies have weeks where they are very hungry and weeks they aren't. Could your baby be teething? Have a cold, sore ears, upset tummy from a new food? A lot can affect their eating. If its drastic and comes with a very fussy or upset baby, see a doctor. When we had a bad week DD had an ear infection. If its just a couple oz here and there it could be normal hungry weeks and less hungry weeks.

Its can be tough watching them not eat like they usually do. We eventually tried a new formula and she likes it better, but thats also a big adjustment for them!

she only gets solids 1 or 2 times a day but she eats the whole container when she does. im still waiting for the pedi to call back but thanks for the advise!

Have you tried switching nipple sizes? We went through this for awhile and changed to level 3 nipples and saw a dramatic improvement. I think for us she was sucking so hard and was getting frustrated she wasn't getting what she wanted, when she wanted it!

My DD absolutely LOVES his formula so when he went a few days with not really wanting his bottle, I knew something was not right. He was actually teething and the bottle made gums hurt more. It took about a week or so and he was back to normal. Not sure if this is the case for your LO but I agree, you might want to lay off the solids a little so she has more formula. They also recommend using a sippy cup instead as this won't hurt her gums.
