So the maid was AWESOME. In the last couple months she moved to mediocre. But hey, it was still better than what I would have gotten done. But I am paying for this service...so my house should be clean.
This last time, none of the items on the "special attention" list were done. Bath crayon from the night before is still on the shower walls (it wipes off if you touch it). Dust on the floors under things like the dining room table. Once she did not change the sheets on the bed. Just remade it with the same dirty sheets on it and placed the clean sheets at the foot of the bed. The toiler has stains in the bottom and under the rim that were not there when I cleaned my own house.
So I called and they will do a reclean. Here are my questions though...
I am home when they clean. I will not be comfortable if the same person comes out, as this same person was let go by my BFF. The maid called my friend and demanded an explaination. Would you be uncomfortable or am I being weird?
I felt bad calling to complain. I need to get over that, right?
Re: Maid issue
Did you ask for a different person to be sent?
I understand feeling bad, but you should get over it. It's a service you pay for, so they should do what they are supposed to do. If the maid asks for an explanation, you should just calmly tell her what wasn't done and what complaints you have--keep it professional.
Good luck!
I would not feel bad complaining, but I would feel uncomfortable seeing the person. I'm awkward about confrontation, though.
I feel like so many maid stories end up this way. Started out great, then got bad, now awkward. Well, really just BIL/SIL and my mom had maid stories like this, but they're the only people I know that ever had a maid.
I just feel like I manage enough people at work...and I don't want to have to manage the maid. It's why we went through a service. Pretty much, I hate managing people.
To me, it's out of bounds to call a client and demand an explaination when they went through a service.
I think it's also weird to me because I work from home and am here when she is here.
You guys are so right, I just need to get over it and deal with it overall though.
Ugh I feel your pain I had the same thing happen with Merry Maids. I felt like they bait and switched me. Like you I was home, working at home at the time, and the first person we had wonderful, then we had a good team not great but good for a while and after that it went downhill fast. DH had gotten a boot dirt mark on the kitchen floor so I left it there when the maid went to leave I said wait a sec went and looked and it was still there I said did you clean the floor she said ?I sprayed it? WHAT they are suppose to hand and knee clean every time. I called the main office up gave them a piece a my mind noting that my guess is if I was not there the maids would just watch TV for an hour and ? and fired the service. This was after I complained several times. At one point they sent the first person I had back out and I requested I always have her and was told they only send her to new clients or complaints that is when I started to feel like it was a bait and switch send a great person at first and just okay people from there on out. I will never hire a large service like Merry Maids again
