DD is usually really good about being around people.

Last night we went to dinner and our server started to talk to DD and she immediately turned away and started crying!

then our friends showed up, who have seen her before and she cried and cried! I had to get up with her 5 times because she was crying so much!

Hubby even took her outside a couple of times.

Is this normal? I felt horrible but she's never done this before!!!

Our LO is 7 mos and does the same even with my in laws who she sees every other day. She seems to not like people up in her face right away, we'll who does, and seems to eventually warm up. Mama always seems to trump everyone else too :

My DS used to love one of my good friends until she unintenionally scared the crap out of him.  It was about an hour before bedtime so we had the lighting dim.  He was in his bouncy between DH and I on the couch, I got up to do something, she walked by him leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek and told him how cute he was (same exact thing I do), when she leaned back and he saw it wasn't me he began to scream.  We look alot alike so we stood beside one another so he could see it was ok.  Apparently it was not ok because the next time she came over (about 2 weeks later) everytime he saw her he'd start to cry.  We'll try again later. He used to love when she'd come visit that's why she thought nothing of giving him a kiss.
