Hello, I have been given a Bugaboo cameleon (2nd generation) buggy, which I love but the fabric parts are looking quite used. I wanted to refresh the look and get just the fabric parts, including a new carry cot/bassinett fabric- does anyone have any ideas where you could do this for a good price? Most of the packs I've seen don't include the carrycot/bassinett part.
One other question is that I was given it without the wooden bottom of the carrycot/bassinet and I saw it on the bugaboo website- is this part necessary?
Thank you!
Re: Bugaboo Cameleon parts (2nd generation)
Those parts are not all that expensive to replace. My secondhand Cam came with a cracked wooden bottom, and I found a replacement on clearance for $15 at Wayfair. The wood board is $25 on the Bugaboo site. Also, there is always a slew of Cameleon parts on ebay, both new & used; as well as fabrics. Brand new, a fabric set (which includes the canopy, seat inlay, and bassinet apron) are $80-$90, but then you can pick the color you want. Do you need just the bassinet apron, or all new fabrics & a new mattress? I looked on ebay and there are several complete bassinets that include the wood board, for under $100, some never used.
Also, if the belly/grab bar has not already been replaced under the recall, make sure you register your serial # on the website so Bugaboo can send you a new one. https://www.bugaboo.com/444
What I like best about the Cameleon is that they're great quality and hold up so well, fabrics are really easy to take off and wash, and they are easy & fun to customize with new fabrics. So they're worth investing a little money in, but I wouldn't buy one new since there are so many in great condition floating around and you won't lose much money when it comes time to re-sell down the line.
Thanks so much for these helpful comments!
I did manage to find the parts I need at a lesser cost to buying the whole thing second hand... but it did take a lot of searching!
Thanks all
