I see all these posts weekly about the aftermath of twins and the scarring, stretch marks and extra skin etc., of having twins. But has anyone of you ladies actually had a good experience with bouncing back after having your twins? After I had DS, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by 6 weeks, and even though my stomach had a little extra skin, It looked pretty normal at 6 months or so. So, keeping my fingers crossed.

My blog * We made the national news!
I had lost 85 pounds before I got pregnant with my boys- so I already had stretch marks- and IMHO they are not that bad. So I gained back 50 pounds- got no additional stretch marks.and my stomach was back to what it was before the boys- not totaly flat- but I was back in my smallest size jeans in 2 weeks.
Now I have gained some weight back- I stress eat and I have had some bad scary things happen to my Dad in the last 6 months.
I did! not one stretch mark. Was down to pre preg weight at 4 weeks and at 12 weeks, I weighed less than before I got preggo! I think nursing had a lot to do with the weight loss. As for the gain while I was pregnant.. I was pretty active and didnt indulge very often. I ate when I was hungry and ate to noursih the babies.. My weakness was FROYO 2-3 times per week.
You have hope!!
Yup (other than the triplet part
).
My stretch marks really don't bother me though; they faded to a pale silvery color. It's the twin skin and the way my fat redistributed itself that bug me. On the plus side, I've been more in shape since having kids though than I was before.
Oh, also ... I thought my rib cage had permanently expanded and I would never be the same band size I was before, but I'm finally back there. It just took 3.5 years. Weird, eh? My hips are also actually a tad smaller than pre-pregnancy and most of my other measurements are, too. But even though I'm at pre-pg weight, my waist and midsection are definitely bigger, and I can't seem to wear any low-rise pants anymore without creating a muffin top. That's my least favorite change.
Awesome!! Good for you. Do you mind me asking how much you gained during your pregnancy? Breastfeeding definitely helps!!

I'm almost 3 years out. I am in the best shape of my life with the strongest core I've ever had. I was also hell bent and determined to get here and it took a lot of hard work.
my abs are still separated, but I strengthened my inner core first so I could control the separation during situps, etc. I still have loose skin, but don't really care
At 10 months out, I've got ~6 pounds to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, at which I was very fit and happy (was running 25+ miles a week). I have no stretch marks. I lost 40 of the 50 I gained within the first two weeks and the rest slowwwly faded away. I haven't done much to do this...I run a few times a week, but have not been watching my food. I credit two bouts of stomach bugs to the loss
I expected the worst, and it turned out not so bad. I am far from where I once was, but I am in all my old clothes. Things have shifted and sagged a little, but I will be able to wear a two piece again.
Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
I was down all but 8 lbs by 6 weeks and that was gone by the time they were 9 months old, and I wasn't BFing or working out regularly. I lost 10 lbs when they started walking and am about 5 lbs lower than where I was when I got PG just because I am so busy with them. Being a SAHM has me way more active than my desk job ever did. I never thought I'd be thinner post-babies but, here I am, skinnier than I was in my mid-20s.
Twins were born in Nov 2010 and stretch marks were mostly faded by the middle of that summer (with a little help from Mederma for stretch marks) and any loose skin can be hidden with slightly higher cut swimsuit bottoms.
I lost all my weight within 4 weeks. I didn't have any stretch marks (but I think those are more genetic than anything - no women in my family have ever had stretch marks from pregnancy) and my stomach went back to it's prepregnancy state after about 6 months but I work out a lot.
So, yes, you can bounce back.
