Second pregnancy post-c-section

Assuming you had a completely normal healing process from your c-section, how long did your doctor suggest you wait before getting pregnant again?

1 Year. But they also said that if I got pregnant at 7-8 months they would say congratulations...we weren't exactly trying, but we ended up getting pregnant when LO was 8 months. I do have to have another c-section due to some things other than uterine rupture. But that's mainly why they suggest a year...uterine rupture. Hope that helps.

Absolutely not before 6 months. A year would be best. I got pregnant when 8.5 after my csection.

6 months for both. My OB called at 4 months after Aidan passed and said that my results were fine and that if we got pg it wouldn't be awful. We assumed it would take 6 months like it did with Lucas so we started trying. Yup I got pg 4 months pp. Pregnancy was easy and Lucas is an amazing almost 2 year old.

The only time I was told to wait was after my third c-section. At that point, I had 3 c-sections in 3 years and my OB just advised to wait one year before getting PG with #4.

My dr said 1 year as well.

Since I was had just turned 39 3 months prior to DD's birth and we knew we wanted one more child (and required IVF), both my RE and OB said to get started ASAP, particularly before turning 40 if possible, so my kids will be about 14.5 months apart.

I had two different doctors (the doctor that actually delivered my baby, and a doctor friend) say that it was safe for me as little as 3 months after.  My OB doctor said to wait 6-9 months.  I asked if 5 months would be okay, and she said that was fine.

I was told 9 months. We started trying at 9 months and got pregnant again at 12 months post op
