Are your LO's on supplemental vitamins?

My mom keeps asking me if our Doc has put DS on vitamins yet. She said I was on vitamins way early on and wondered if my son was too. When I told her no she was shocked. Are any of your LO's on vitamins? Should I be asking our doc about it? DS is right on the 50% mark for everything, and he eats and drinks formula very well.

DS isn't on any. I think your pedi would say something if he thought your DS needed them. BF babies get Vitamin D drops since that is usually lacking in their diet, but i wouldn't worry about it too much...

Remember times change and they probably determined that babies are getting enough from the formula...anything extra either gets released when they pee or could cause problems if they are in too high a quantity, just like they would in you and me.

Ive been wondering the same thing - my LO is still BF and we just introduced solids... our ped hasn't mentioned any supplements but I'm curious what others have to say.

Vitamin D drops because I'm breastfeeding.  When we had foster children, my family practitioner said that we didn't need to give the kids a multiple vitamin unless they had a poor diet.

I BF both of my children and we never did Vitamin drops.... 

Our pedi said they were not necessary.

Our pedi put DD on polyvisol at birth because it has vitamin D (I'm bfing) and iron (I have a history of anemia).

Both kids took Vitamin D until they made the switch from BM to cow milk
