Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Disney world... Alone with a 7 month old?

So my husband has to go to a convention for work right next to Disney world so we are all going together and we are all going to disney world one half day in the week. But then I have 3.5 other days alone with my baby in Orlando.. Should I attempt to go to Disney world alone with my daughter since we may never get to go again? She is a well mannered baby, not fussy unless for a reason so I thought- maybe? But obviously it wouldnt be near as fun as two adults with older children... thoughts? Advice?

  • I have a 7-month old and I wouldn't.  While it sounds nice, what can the baby really do?  Nice idea and all but personally I wouldn't.

  • The ticket is too expensive for you to go alone with your baby IMO. She won't appreciate it as much since she's too young to really get it.

You may want to go to a water park (aquatica) instead.  I bet your baby would like that.

  • I'd probably go to the parks for two days and spend a day in the pool-but I'd go to Disney by myself. I wouldn't expect LO to realize its Disney World, although I'm sure baby will enjoy it.
  • I don't think it's worth the money.

  • Honestly I think it depends which park you go to. While Magic kingdom offers a ton of rides, there really isn't much there you can do with a baby. I went with my LO when she was 3 months old (only because my whole family was going,) but the park I think would be the best to do alone is animal kingdom. Lots of shows, and animals to look at, and could be fun for your LO. My personal favorite would have to be the Lion King show. In all honesty it is absolutely up to you, but if you do want to spend a day alone at a park I think Animal Kingdom would totally be the way to go!

  • Disney tickets are pretty spendy.  If you want to exposure to "Disney" things, I'd suggest going to Downtown Disney.  It's free, there's tons to see and do and you do get some Disney exposure with less crazy then you get in the park

  • Do YOU want to go to Disney world? Would you have fun going alone? If so, def go! If not, it's probably an expensive mistake to go.

I love WDW and have gone alone in the past so I'd jump at an opportunity like this. Baby will like all the sights, but it's not as much fun as going with a toddler. So it'd mainly be about you and your enjoyment right now.
  • If you want to go to Disney I would do it.  As a super huge fan of Disney and Ive taken my child at 4 months old and now will be going back to Disney in May -when she is 10 months. Each park has a baby center at the front that provide rocking chairs for breast feeding, nice changing tables, microwaves to warm food or just a place to go a relax and get away from the Disney craze.

There are lots of rides you can actually ride with your baby

Magic Kingdom - Its a small world, Haunted mansion, Pirates of at the Caribbean, Peter Pan, and Jungle Cruise.

Epcot - Ride in Mexico, Imagination!, Living with the Land, Nemo and Friends, Ellens energy adventure and spaceship earth. If you go in May its also the Flower and Garden Show!

Animal Kingdom will just be shows and the animals for you and baby.

    I would skip Hollywood Studios.

Anyway I did it with my child and I love Disney so I did it and have zero regrets.  If you have any questions you can pm me.  Also if you are interested Disney will be raising tickets prices in two months so now is the time to buy.  You can also check out mousesavers.com for other info.

  • Forgot to say in my previous post...

I personally would not go with just a baby.  I know I could handle it, but a ticket is about $100 and I do not think it would be worth it.  I would do downtown disney.  There are things to see, shops to go in, places to eat, etc.

  • Personally I wouldn't waste the money while LO is so young.

I agree it's more fun with older children. I so want to save up and when my kids are 8-12ish ages I want to take them.

  • We are going next month! I think there is plenty to do with your baby. So much to see. I love Disney, so regardless I am looking forward to it!! There is nothing for a baby to do in a "regular"park, but people walk in the park with babies all day.
