Looking forward to reading your blog post about it... I have been researching plastic surgeons in my city to schedule a consultation in the coming months because even at 5w I know this sag will never fully go back, I am pretty sure at least since it is so severe.
How long did they recommend waiting PP or did they ask you to wait for anything before scheduling if you didn't have a consultation until recently on your own time?

I really couldn't even consider it until my boys were this age. They're so self-sufficient that I don't have to factor them TOO much into my recovery. (I mean lifting, changing diapers, that kind of thing.)
I lost 40 lbs over the past year, and seeing as my stomach only looks worse after losing weight, I knew this was my only option.
I can't wait to hear about your experience. I am definitely getting a tummy tuck after I have my twins. I can't imagine how my stomach will look. The first two singletons did a number. I also have the worst belly ring scar. It stretched and looks awful.
My SIL had one when here twins were five. She gained quite a bit in pregnancy and worked hard to get down to a size 4, but couldn't lose the skin. They replaced her c/s scar and "moved" her belly button, so the scar doesn't look any different. When they were in there, they repaired the gap in her stomach muscles and discovered damage to her bladder and urethra from the pregnancy. They fixed the stomach muscles, which she said helped her comfort. Honestly, she said she wasn't expecting the recovery to be so difficult. She needed significant help around the house. However, she had big problems with accumulating fluid after surgery. She had to return to the doctor to get the fluid drained on several different occasions. I don't know that it was painful to get the fluid drained, but she wasn't pleased with the complication. I never saw her bare belly before surgery, but it looks pretty fantastic now. I think she would say it was worth it.

I haven't yet, but I am planning to start researching as soon as we decide we are 100% done with having kids...(or after we have #3)...I would definitly be interested to hear how yours goes! I think a couple of MoMs have had it done...I hear recovery is incredibly painful, but absolutely worth it (which I can imagine - I am so tired of this skin flap bouncing around while working out...)
I was planning on doing it this summer (I also have a hernia and diastasis recti to repair) but my tubal ligation failed and Im knocked up again. Yippee? So I guess it'll have to wait.
The good news is this baby will probably tear me up so much that insurance will be sure to cover repair!!

For those who have had this done, or are about to have it done, can I ask how much it's costing you? Does insurance cover any part of it? Obviously, I have a very long time to go until I can even start thinking about this for myself yet, but my first two singletons have created a saggy pouch of skin that I'm assuming will only get worse after this pregnancy, so I'm very interested in having this done sometime in the future.
ETA: Oops, sorry - when I said obviously, I thought it was because my ticker was showing and you could see that I'm 24 weeks pg with twins. Not sure why my ticker isn't showing up, sorry.
