When did you feel the babies??

Hello, I am currently going on 18 weeks pregnant with twins.  This is my first pregnancy.  I have not felt the babies yet, and everyone acts like I should be?  When you did you first feel them?  I went to the dr on Friday, and saw that everything is fine, but just anxious.  TIA!

Re: When did you feel the babies??

  • I didn't feel any movement that I was sure was the babies until 20 or 21 weeks.  I felt some flutters before then, but I'll never know if it was them or not.

  • I'm 21 weeks. I know some of the feelings I have had were babies, but I'm never sure. So don't feel to bad. My doctor said closer to 24 weeks.

  • It was definitely after my a/s at 18.5 weeks that I started feeling kicks. I want to say it was closer to 20 weeks. Before that I felt flutters, but I am not sure I would have recognized that it was the babies if this was my first pregnancy. Now at almost 24 weeks I feel Baby B a lot. Baby A has an anterior placenta so I don't feel her as often.

  • 20w for Baby A and 22w for Baby B. A is posterior placenta and very low while B is anterior and very high. Now I feel them both all day every day. I swear they keep each other awake 24/7 kicking and punching one another which means Mommy doesn't get much sleep lately!

  • I have an anterior placenta and felt flutters at about 20 weeks.  But this week, at 22, I have really started to feel Baby B mostly.  Baby A is still mostly flutters but hubby can feel B from the outside,

You will know it when you feel it.  It is wonderful!

  • For the past couple of weeks I occasionally feel what I think might be the babies, but I'm not sure-so almost 20 weeks and no definitely movement yet.  Both are anterior placentas, so I know that will delay things for me.

  • 16w, but these are my 2nd and 3rd. Do you have an anterior placenta for either of them? That could prevent you from feeling them sooner.

  • At 13 weeks I felt what I thought might be babies. I knew for sure around 15-16 weeks.

  • I have no idea about my placentas yet, my a/s is next week so I guess I will find out more then.  The dr's haven't talked too much about that kind of thing yet.

  • I have two anterior placentas and have just started to feel them this week (19). I thought I might have felt flutters maybe last week, but wasn't sure. I can tell better now since I could actually see them moving on the ultrasound today and felt it at the same time.
  • I had an anterior placenta, and I didn't feel anything concrete until...honestly...like 26 weeks. But then I felt it all the time, even from the outside. Don't stress!

  • Between 18-19 weeks.  Even though this is my second pregnancy I wasn't totally sure what I was feeling was them for a few days.

  • I thought I felt arms and legs poking or prodding me earlier, but didn't know for sure so I figured I imagined it because I wanted to feel them move. But I felt a muscle like twitching start around 21 weeks. I'm now almost 25 weeks and I feel them both moving all the time. My husband even felt both babies move around 24 weeks and I'm starting to watch my belly move as they move.
