Re: 2/18- Questions of the Day!
Where were you 10 years ago around this time?:10 years ago at this time, I was 20 years old, so I was a junior in college at UNC Chapel Hill. I was majoring in psychology, but still didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life. I had a serious boyfriend who I had been dating for 3 years by that time. I was getting ready to soon move in with him during the coming summer.
Where were you 5 years ago around this time?: 5 years ago at this time, I was in my last semester of graduate school at Appalachian State for speech-language pathology. During the last semester, you do an internship somewhere, so I had come back closer to home and was doing my internship in acute care at a hospital. I was living by myself. I was on- again/off-again with that same boyfriend. But I didn't know that within just a few months I would not be dating him anymore and would meet (or, actually, re-meet) the guy that I would end up marrying!
Last year at this time: I didn't know it, but I would soon be getting pregnant. We had already tried for about 6 months and were going to take a break for awhile....but decided not to and to keep trying....and, obviously got lucky with our sweet Oliver.
Today: Eating breakfast at the moment while watching Oliver sleep in his swing. And listening to my dogs snore on the couch.
Where were you 10 years ago around this time?: I was 16 and a junior in high school. I was probably sitting in one of my AP classes and studying my lines for an upcoming play because I was a theatre geek.
Where were you 5 years ago around this time?: I was 21 and a senior in college. I was probably still recovering from Mardi Gras a couple of weeks before. I went with a group of friends to NOLA and ended up getting sick from what I think was probably mold in our hotel room.
Last year at this time: Happily pregnant with our first daughter Patricia, trying to balance my full time job, a full semester of classes towards my master's, and my 10 hour/week internship. Blissfully ignorant.
Today: Pumping behind a curtain in my daughter's room, waiting for the sonographer to come in for her brain ultrasound and hoping they come before I have to leave for my 6 week pp visit with my OB!
Where were you 10 years ago around this time?: I was probably sitting in a lecture hall at UMBC, just waiting for the class to end so I could run off work.
Where were you 5 years ago around this time?:I was married for only a few months, working at my current place and trying to figure out what our plans were for the weekend I'm sure. With not a care in the world.
Last year at this time: Last year I was pregnant with C and raising a almost three year old, while trying to work full time. Although about two weeks later I would be put on bedrest because of PTL.
Today: Today I'm at work, wishing I was home with my oldest who is sick. C is at daycare, and I'm hoping she doesn't catch the stomach bug that is going around.
W10 years ago I was 1 month away from my wedding and in grad school in Arkansas.
5 years ago DD was 8 months old and still in lockdown. We were here in Ohio and I was in my second year of the PhD program.
ETA: didn't see the last half
Last year: I was pregnant and had just hit the 30 week mark, so we were breathing much easier! Still in Columbus but no longer in grad school. Spending my days substitute teaching instead
Today: Still in Columbus, OH. DD is at home today because of Presidents' Day and we're grocery shopping. I think our day will change though, because DD just developed a fever.
5 years ago: I was finishing up school with my teaching degree in early childhood education. Dating DH and waiting for that ring!
1 year ago: I was pregnant with DD. Next week I would of stopped working, a few days later I was admitted into hospital and on march 6th had DD at 31!!
Today: I am a sahm to our almost 1 year old! Literally speaking, I am doing a million things today, DH has the day off and we have been redoing our kitchen, we have to pick out countertops today!
10 years ago: First year at UVa in Engineering, so just studying my brains out (I was a super nerd!) Still dating my HS sweetheart long distance....we made it 18 more months ... lasting over 3 years.
5 years ago: Working FT, been married for 6 months or so, and hating our apartment.

1 year ago: Weeks away from beginning our 8th cycle of fertility treatments...the one that would do the trick! Per my FB post that day, I apparently made this for dinner (Oh, to have time to cook...ha!): https://tastykitchen.com/recipes/main-courses/chicken-puff-pot-pie/
Today: Hung out in PJs, watching Skyfall, and I even snuck in a shower ( :: high five!::)

10 years ago - Junior year in college juggling 6am lacrosse practice and a heavy course load of architecture classes
5 years ago I was trying on wedding dresses
1 year ago we were on the countdown for bringing V home from the NICU. Everyone else was confident that she would go home this week but after 120+ days and counting I was a bit hesitant to believe it. So much so that I refused to bring anything home (clothes, blankets, breastmilk, etc) until we were walking out of there with her.
Today we were home. Everyone was off for the holiday but we didn't venture out because of lockdown

10 years ago, I was living in Harvard Square in Cambridge MA. I just met my future husband (online! using Match.com). I was working as an IT systems administrator. It was the first time in my life, I knew I wanted kids -- I had finally met the love of my life.
5 years ago, I had been married for about 6 months and I was pregnant with my first son. We lived in Boston, MA in an apartment that was walking distance from Fenway Park. Cool coffee shops and bars were all within walking distance. I was still working IT (now a manager).
Last year, I was living in my first "suburb" home with my DH and 2 sons (getting over having had a miscarriage the fall before). I got pregnant with my DD preemie a month later (last March). Still working in IT, now an Associate Director.
Today, (I am still out on Mat Leave), a friend of mine took the boys to an "indoor gym", while I got lots of snuggle time in with my DD. I'm returning to work in 3 weeks, and part of me is dreading it and part of me is looking forward to it. Lucky to be working in IT for a European company -- they have allowed me to take 20 weeks maternity leave.
5 my first year as an associate at a medium/ large law firm in Philly. In a few months I'd meet my husband !
Last year in my second trimester and finally starting to show! Thinking I had lots of time left to prepare for my little one
Today worked all day then came home to hear that my dh who is a sahd right now is getting sick. So I ran back out to get meds and surgical masks. Put DS to bed and worked until 9:30 pm. I'm beat!
10: Was finishing my last semester of law school. Had not yet met my husband (April 2004 for that). Went on an amazing 40 day solo trip to Europe during the summer of 2003.
5: Was 3 months pregnant with DD#1 and looking for a less stressful job to return to after maternity leave.
Last year: finally 3 months pregnant after 2 years of secondary infertility and lots of OOP fertility costs. Really grateful to be pregnant, but constantly fearful that something would go wrong with the pregnancy (I had a subchorionic hematoma by this point that caused two weeks of bleeding).
Today: mom to 2 girls!; just back from maternity leave and working at the job I started after maternity leave for DD#1. Pumping at this exact moment.
