We got LO a plastic slide playset and are trying to find the best place for it. We have a mulched area that we'd rather use instead of the grass but I think the ground cover needs to be more comfy for her. I am thinking of using the puzzle mat but am worried about mold in the crevices.

Re: Anyone use the foam puzzle mats outdoors?
Many of the foam mats on the market are banned elsewhere (i.e. Europe) as they contain toxic formamide. We chose Softtiles as they are non-toxic and are trade show floor quality (very thick). You can also choose how many individual tiles you want so you can get exactly the size of coverage you need. On their website, they have the following:
Q. Can the mats be used outside?
A. The mats can be used outdoors in covered areas or areas that do not get much sunlight. Sunlight causes the mats to breakdown and the surface to deteriorate. Black and Gray mats may warp with heavy sun exposure. The mats can be used outside temporarily and then covered or brought in when not being used. Mats can be used under a pool as a cushioned surface.
Check out why we chose Softtiles and what the issue is with the chemicals of concern below. Hope this helps!
