I know it was the actors that wanted off, but I hope they get some dynamic characters on next season to replace the ones they lost otherwise I'm going to lose interest very quickly.
I knew it was coming, and I know it was the actors' choice to leave, but I wish the show had been a little more creative with the write-offs. The birth/death plotline twice in the same season is a little much.
But at least we got an heir to Downton first so we can avoid repeating all that drama.

Yes, this. Can't anyone have a baby in this show without one of the parents dying? Someone needs to make a list of shows not to watch while you're pregnant, and this season of Downton Abbey needs to be at the top. Right under American Horror Story.
Re: Julian fellows must be ended( Downton spoilers)
Both the people who played Sybill and Matthew wanted off the show at the end of this season.
I knew he was leaving, I just didn't know how they were going to do it. So sad.

Here's an interview with Julian Fellowes about his plot choices:

If anything happens to Bates I'm flying to England and showing up at the BBC with a pitchfork!
