Hungry every 23 hours

My twins are now 5 weeks and 5 days. They were born at 34 weeks and 5 days. The last weeks or so they seem to get hungry every 23 hours 3 hours is stretching it. I feed them formula. Is this normal? I know to go through a growth spurt around 4 weeks but thought it only lasted a couple days. It's been at least a week. I don't know what to do, should I just feed them, should I make them wait, should I be worried? They eat about 3.5 oz and don't seem to want more. Pls help

  • I mean 2 or 3 hours

  • Mine still eat every 3 hours and get really fussy at that 3 hour mark to let me know.  They have been on that schedule since they were in the NICU.  they sleep well at night because they get their calories in during the day.  I would say that is totally normal!

  • Totally normal.  My kids were still eating every 2 hours by then (they were 36w).  It's very hard these first few months, hang in there, it gets better!

  • My twins will be 6 weeks on Tuesday and they eat every 2-3 hours as well.  This is what we were told they should be doing when we left the hospital and the pedi said the same thing.
