Fert. Report and a bit of a vent

Well my donor had 15 eggs retrieved, of those 10 were mature, they icsi'd all of them. They called this morning and said 6 of them fertilized. I'm scheduled for a 3dt on Monday. If the embies look totally awesome and they want to do a 5dt, they'll call me mon early morning.

I have mixed emotions. On one hand I'm thankful to have 6 embies but I'm scared some of those will arrest and I was really hoping for some frosties. I'm just hoping that those 6 embies are total rockstars! 

On  side note, I started my PIO shots last night. Hubby did great giving it, but I woke up this am to a seriously painful hip. I'm doing heat/massage and I notice the more I move around, the better it feels. The thought of doing these injections for weeks is a bit intimidating, but in the end will be so worth it if it works.

Im feeling SUPER emotional today! I can really only think about what step comes next. If I think too far ahead of myself I get so overwhelmed. My MIL keeps saying "oh, I just KNOW this is going to work!" I'm about to thoat punch her. I tell her not to make statements like this but she doesn't stop. You'd think she'd get a clue after saying this during my last 3 pg's which ended in loss and then saying it for the past year while we were waiting to adopt, which didn't work out. 

I get it, the trying to be positive part....but this is how I deal. It's my coping mechanism. I can't be sure it's going to work, just hope that it will.

sorry this turned into a bit of a vent....I'm just feeling hormonal today.

Ugh vent away! I totally get where you are coming from. I had told some family members about our IVF and they all said the same thing, that they just knew it would work and as I suspected very well could be the case, they were wrong. It's totally normal to have that protective guard up during IF. I am keeping my FX for you 6 rockstars and sending lots of growing vibes your way!! Hugs!

Feel free to vent!  This is a LOT to go through emotionally and physically.  I definitely got to the point in my IF journey where I felt I just couldn't take any more bad news or even average news.  Sometimes you just want reassurance.  I do think that 6 is a great number of DE embryos to work with - hope those 6 continue to do great!!  Hang in there!

As for the PIO, the tennis ball is an excellent idea as is spreading out in the entire area.  We had the nurse draws a circle on me and we would think of it as a clock.  We did a shot at "3 o'clock", then the next day at 6, the next at 9 and the next at 12.  Then we would switch sides.  That way, each side had four days to rest up before getting hit again.  I thought that worked really well.

I think 6 sounds like a great numnber too!  Hope you have a great transfer.  Can't help with any PIO advice as I've never done it myself, but I did take notes so that I'm prepared for when it's my turn.

Thanks ladies!! If I don't hear anything by 8:30 this morning then I'm headed in today for a 3dt. 

Thanks for the advice on the PIO!! It def. helped. And for letting me vent. I usually hold it all together pretty well, but sometimes it just gets to be too much!!
