Naps

Does your baby nap in their crib? It has been such an ordeal to get them to sleep at night in their cribs, I'm terrified to let them nap in there. So basically during the day I feed them, do some small activity (tummy time, read a book, dance around) and then let them sleep either on me, in their swing/bouncy, or on the couch. They usually will sleep for 2 hours and then we restart the whole process. Is this normal??

Re: Naps

  • I've been saying that DS needs to nap in his crib, but during the day I pretty much let him nap around the living room while I do chores and such.  I will be better when he gets older, but right now, I'm just happy he's resting.

  • She does now (about 1/2 the time anyway) but at that age definitely not... whenever I tried she would just cry and cry.  Every few days I would give it a try, and she eventually got to where she would nap in the crib, but I think it's definitely normal for them to resist it when they're that young.
  • I can count on one hand how many times shes slept in her crib. I just like her in my view instead of hunching over a crib. I know I'm going to have to break the habit, but right now I am just more comfortable with her laying on me in my plain view.
  • he usually does 1 orr 2 in the crib.  he falls asleep all over the place though.

  • He always sleeps in his cradle.  well, almost always - there are a few times when he's fallen asleep on me and I've enjoyed cuddling too much to put him down.
