When does sex feel normal again?

Cliche question: Does sex ever feel normal again after a vaginal delivery?

I didn't tear, which was wonderful for postpartum recovery, but after having sex for the first time at 7 weeks, I wish I had gotten a few stitches! I was shocked at how different it felt.

Other women who didn't have stitches, did things return to a relative "normal" again? If so, when?

At least 6m PP. but I was EBF which leads to that as well. My OB calls it nature's birth control. I didn't get my sex drive back until DD weaned herself at almost 13m.

I had lots of stitches. I know you said you did not. I am now realizing that sex felt normal after I stopped BFing and got off the mini pill. That was at 18 months postpartum with my first.

I've had two c sections. Sex hurts like a mofo until my milk dries up. Then my drive came raging back.

I had no external tears, just a small one on the inside. We only attempted sex at probably 3 months PP and it didn't hurt too bad, it wasn't fun either.

We tried again at 4 months and it was fine. I am EBF as well.

I had a ton of stitches and am still nursing. It does NOT feel normal. It hurts at certain angles, but really it's just a lot looser. Yeay me. Anyway, the gyno told me that after I finish nursing my estrogen will increase again and that will help my collagen become more elastic again. Not like it was, but will put some more structure to my lady parts. So we'll see.  Good luck.

We haven't tried again yet but after I delivered Noah I actually enjoyed sex more. Maybe I'm in the minority and it was weird/uncomfortable for the first few times but we started at right about 6 weeks and after a week or two I was Oing easier than I had been able to before. I'm not sure if BFing will make a difference this time but it sounds (from other posters) like it will so once this sinus infection is gone I'll find out.

I had a second degree tear and stitches. Sex is very occasionally awesome for us now... but really, it only feels normal or really good for me about once a month. DH and I still DTD a few times a week because I want to be intimate with him and for him to feel loved, too, but I honestly don't expect to enjoy it regularly again until I'm done BFing.

BFing has made made me a lot, well, drier. So in order for it to feel "normal," we either have to use assistance (KY) or spend a while on foreplay. Which neither of us really minds.

Thank goodness you said this!  That means there is still hope.  13 Months PP here and it is still uncomfortable.  My sex drive is finally just coming back so I'm hoping everything will go back to normal soon.

With DD, I had a 2nd degree tear and a peri-urethral tear, both with stitches, and EBF. We didn't try until 4 months and it *hurt*. The regular tear felt OK by 6-7 months, but the peri-urethral tear hurt for a year. I was pretty dry until weaning at 13 months.

With DS, I only had a couple of stitches so that feels almost normal. We're EBF, so I'm still dry, ugh.

In between, however, things were good! So I think you can look forward to a relative normal, maybe even better.
