Pregnant after a Loss

Update on Betahell aka my life

Well, I went in on Friday after my beta of 129 on Monday (from 21) and got the call it was a 644!  They told me to plan on coming back this coming Friday for one more bloodtest before ultrasound (he wants it 1500 for u/s).  After calling my entire family (that knew) and friends to celebrate..... I stood up from the couch to go pee and as I sat down a small blod clot dropped. After that I started bleeding terribly just like I had done 2 weeks ago for 2.5 days.  My husband had to go buy me overnight pads and I was filling them and passing huge gel like clots within a few hours.  (Keep in mind I usually use light tampons for normal AF).   Called my RE (after hours) and at first he was still optimistic saying this can happen and be OK. But then he asked if they told me my progesterone level.  They told me what Monday's was and it was a 2.36.  I did not have the number from yesterday and he didn't either as he was home.  He said that did not sound good and that he hated to turn pessimistic but he really felt like it doesn't look good, especially since yesterday I was 6 weeks with a beta that is still low (Even though it doubled twice and then some...only needed 516).  Told me to go ahead and stop meds.  I woke up this morning after changing my pad before bed last night and nothing was there.  I have been up for 2.5 hours now and still haven't passed anything or bled.  Just some red spotting on toilet paper.  Some people are asking why he had me stop meds and at this point I honestly don't know what to think.  I feel like something is terribly wrong so maybe it's just as well... I just don't know.  I thought the road of IF and getting pregnant was hard...never dreamed we'd be riding this roller coaster for 3 weeks....at least I know I can get pregnant.

  • Huge hugs.
FWIW, I wouldn't be 100 percent comfortable with stopping meds until the betas actually started dropping. Knowing its a long shot, but if there's ever any doubt, it's you who has to live with it. At worst, it just delays the inevitable miscarriage a few more days, but the peace of mind knowing you did everything possible is invaluable. Do what YOU feel comfortable with.

Huge hugs again, I'm sorry you're in this beta hell

  • I am so sorry you are going through this right now.  When your progesterone came back low on Monday, did your RE increase your dosage (I'm assuming you are on progesterone supplements already)?

Congratulations to the fabulous KGS2003! Her sweet boys are here! Grow boys grow!!!
  • My test line this morning was much lighter.  Hoping a low beta will confirm this so we can move on.  3 weeks of this roller coaster has been enough.  I appreciate all of your comments and love!!
