23 mo. not sleeping through night - help!

We just moved a few weeks ago and we just introduced the big kid bed to our 23 month old as well. She is doing fine with the bed (not getting out) however she is waking EVERY NIGHT and calling to us. I go to her, pick her up rock her a bit and she is asleep right away - I try to put her back in bed and she wakes up and refuses to lay back down.

So...we end up rocking her again and then caving in and bringing her to our bed which I hate. (I'm weak, I know!)

soo....do I go in, rock her a minute, put her back in bed and let her cry it out? I want to be strong enough to do that, really!!

tell me what works/worked for you

thanks!

Re: 23 mo. not sleeping through night - help!

  • New house, new bed... I wouldn't do CIO (but I am not a CIO type).

Can you try soothing her while she is still in her bed.  Snuggle with her a little there?

Good luck (DD ends up in our bed too ;)

  • DD has been doing this too.  We just moved her from the nursery to her room.  When she was in the nursery she could call out and we would just yell back.  Now, I have to go downstairs and talk to her.  As a result, we are having to get up 4 to 6 times a night and go down to talk to a 2.5 year old who is perfectly capable of SSTN, but isn't.  I let her cry more last night and only had to get up 2 times.  She is still waking up super early and not getting enough sleep over all.

I am not opposed to CIO at all, but it doesn't work very well when we are all up anyway.  I will not sleep with her unless she is sick.  I just can't.

I hope people have some ideas, because between being pg and trying to get everything else done, I am sleepy.
