Tips on using scale?

Anyone have any tips for using a scale for weighted feeds? We are picking up a rental tomorrow and I hope it gives me more piece of mind about how much he's getting in. Anyone with tips or experience is greatly appreciated.

Zero it with a burp cloth on it so its not as hard/ cold when lo is on it.  We opted not to weigh for night feedings when we used it to track intake to not wake him up as kuch(he hated scale). I used to talk or make noises to distract him while on scale to keep him from squirming and crying lol.  G-luck.   Its both annoying and addicting so be carful
