Healing question...

When did you start to feel back to normal down there? I had a check up two weeks ago and she said everything looked good, except I had two stitches that hadn't dissolved so she ask me to wait for baths/sex for one more week. Well I ended up waiting longer because I was still bleeding. Today it seems the bleeding has finally stopped. It was on and off for the last 7 weeks so not sure if it will start up again. 

Anyways, things feel ok down there but look different...hard to explain. Also, sometimes it feels like I am sitting on something. I had a big baby 9 pounds, 6 ounces and had 3rd degree tearing after pushing for three hours so I know it may take a while to feel normal. Wouldn't she be able to tell if something wasn't right or do u think I should make another appt? I haven't attempted sex yet but may this weekend so I don't know about my pain level with that.

I don't know the type of tear I had but I was torn all the way to the end.  I haven't attempted intercourse yet because it hurt like hell for about 18 months after the first one.  I'm still having issues clearing out my bowels completely (hence, I find soiled underwear the next time I go - ugh!) and am going to see my primary next week for a referral to a specialist because I had this issue go on since after my first and it never seemed to improve.

I had a 3rd degree tear too and the same sensation of sitting in something. I'm sorry, it's no fun! I'd say I felt fairly normal starting last week as far as stitches are concerned. So sometime between 3 and 4 weeks PP. I'm still sore and struggling when it comes to using the bathroom but the stitches seem dissolved. I'd say it couldn't hurt to make another appt if its still bothering you now. Eliminating that discomfort would be worth the hassle of an appt for me. Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, I also had trouble going to the bathroom but that has improved a lot over the weeks. Especially after my hemi's got better. ;/

 Hope you start to heal soon!

Yeah, I'm back to my baths at this point. Hopefully you will get some answers at your appt. I will probably make another appt. too.

I just had my 6 wk PP visit today. She said that I was not completely healed. I also had a 3rd degree tear, and still feel sore at times. I have also had a "fullness" feeling in and off. Unfortunately she told me I have a small recticele. If the the tear doesn't heal she said they may have to do it over...so not thrilled to hear that. Here's hoping a few more weeks will do the trick.

I had second degree tearing and two episiotomies.  I felt pretty normal pretty quickly, except in one sitting position.  It felt odd and sort of painful (hard to explain) when I sat up completely straight.  That took a couple of months to feel right.  It may have been three months; I can't remember exactly.  

Sex got more possible around three months and finally stopped hurting after six.  For some women, it hurts until they stop BFing.  I didn't have that issue.  It was just my scars that hurt and felt like sandpaper.

I didn't feel right till after my 6 week pp checkup, but that's mainly b/c I had a skin granule that had to be cauterized off. I had a 3rd degree tear and the area had a small part that didn't heal exactly flush, causing the granule to appear. Once he took that off I felt much better. Bleeding didn't stop till DD was about a month old. Things feel much better now, but they'll never feel the same as before...

pretty much this had a 3rd degree tear externally and they wouldn't comment on internal tearing so I had a lot of damage - but 3-4 months was when it became possible to have sex again.
