another cold question

As I mentioned earlier, the netipot didn't work for me. So my next try - Vicks Vaporub...is that on any of your approved lists? (I wish my dr had one of these)..and if so do you just sniff it or can you put it under your nose or on chest? I hate taking all of these drugs! It's pissing me off. I take the tylenol sinus every 4 hours, like the box says. I just called my dr's office they said that was fine but I completely forgot to ask about the Vicks...*kicks self*.

I just got off the phone with my OB's office because I have a cold, and they told me to go out and get Vick's and slather it on.

Thank you! I've tried the generic ocean spray, netipot, tylenol sinus, and breathe right strips. The strips so far have been the best. Did they offer any other suggestions?

I hope you feel better soon too. I've had this stupid cold since Saturday and it's really irking me. I missed two days of work and my niece's bday party and it's got my Pgal brain on overdrive.

Vicks is perfectly safe.

I can't imagine Vicks would be a no-no - you're not ingesting it, just wearing it.  I ran out recently and used Burts Bees regular lip balm under my nose, and that worked fine too.

Worse comes to worse, my doctor said Afrin is ok if used infrequently.  I get really bad rebound congestion after using it, so I only take it if I'm desperate (or if we're going out to eat and I want to be able to taste my food!).

I'm sorry you're sick. The worst. I hope you find something that helps you feel better!

Keep using the neti pot. Two to three times a day. It's not supposed to clear you up, but from my experience, it makes the severe congestion less severe and helps to make it not last as long.

See it didn't even work for me. Nothing drained. No water came out. I tilted my head like in the picture and then just played around my own way..Sucked. I'm gonna try it again when I'm not sick and see if its just my nasal passage or if I was just too stuffed up.
