Low AMH

Hi everyone, I've finally gotten all the results back from my initial bloodwork and my AMH came back low.. really low. I'm meeting with my OB/RE next month to go over everything and she says she has a strategy but doesn't want to go over it until my husband's SA is complete. Just wondering for those of you in my shoes what course of treatment has been recommended (assuming DH's SA is normal). Thanks!

I am sorry you are dealing with low AMH, it is one of a few tests that can show fertility issues, is your FSH high as well, it is usually a combination of results that shows real trouble.  Our issue is DH and his azoo though I have low AMH too, but we can only use IVF/ICSI because of DH so I am sorry I cannot be of more help, I hope your appointment next month gives you answers and a plan

Thanks for sharing! I called my doctor back to clarify my results and the nurse said the AMH test came back negative, meaning <0.16.. Oddly enough my other tests came back normal so maybe it's not the end of the world. I think I just need to step away from google, wait for DH's test and meet with my RE next month. It's so hard not to let this process overwhelm you .

My AMH was slightly decreased.  It is not enough for my RE to suspect a problem per se, but it signals to him that (along with my age and normal FSH range) we should act more quickly and aggressively. Ultimately we are dealing with MFI, which gives us options of IVF or IUI depending on how subsequent SAs go.

Hi, I have low amh although not as low as yours, .75 at age 31, so i am not sure how helpful my experience will be to you. We were trying on our own before moving forward with IUI when we finally got pregnant after 18 mos of trying. Just found out this week it was a blighted ovum however, but I don't think that really has a lot to do with the fact that I have low amh. Best of luck to you!

I have low AMH with still in the range of "normal", but highish FSH. I'm only 24. DH's SA and all of our other tests have been normal, so like pp said, our RE just would just like us to act quickly and more aggressively since time really isn't on our side. Basically, things will only go down from here as I get older, as far as my numbers go. We have one IUI(with oral meds)under our belts and IUI #2 will be next week. Our fingers are crossed that it will be all the help we need since everything else is fine.

If IUI's don't work I'm not sure what the next plan of action will be.

Thanks for sharing everyone! Guess I'll just have to wait and see what my doctor recommends and hope the rest of the testing comes out normal.

I had the same AMH results 0.16. All my other numbers were in normal range and DH's SA was great. Two RE's recommended IVF, so that's what we did. They both said I could get pregnant again on my own I had 4 BFP's in about a year, but there would be a high chance I'd get those BFP's with abnormal eggs and miscarry again. With IVF, they hopefully pick out the best quality embryos to put back. I'm just 5w3d today, so I know another loss could still be in store for us, but I'm feeling a little hopeful. Good luck to you! I also have low amh as part of my dx - .68 when it was tested last month.  We also have MFI and I have endo, lpd, etc etc etc however like you, we have had one natural pregnancy and achieved our daughter through IUI and Clomid.  We are trying for third and I was told on the phone due to my amh level we would have to be more aggressive, but I won't find out what that means until the end of March after I have another surgery and my DH does another semen analysis.  Good luck to you.
