Safe gliders

Does anyone own a Delta or Simmons safe glider? From what I can find online, the cushions are removable for cleaning. If this is accurate, can the chair be used without the cushions? I know some gliders now can't be used unless the cushions are in place as the back is only a frame.

Im pretty sure the one on my target registry is delta. And someone purchased it already!!
