Back labor question.

So far I've only had two rough nights of contractions, but both have involved a lot of pain in my back, from shooting pains through the back of my hips to searing pain throughout my lower back. Does this mean that's where the pain will be when I'm actually in labor?

I've had a night of that too and wondered the same thing.

If you're experiencing a lot of back pain, both now and in labor, try spending some time on your hands and knees.  It will encourage the baby to move into a beter position and take some pressure off of your spine.  I've had two OP babies with bad back labor and hands and knees was the only comfortable position for me to be in during labor.
