So I don't know how many items this is on, but... There's one set of shirts I liked and I thought the price was a bit high $26 for 4 long sleeve onsies. Well on buybuybaby they are $15.99 which is probably what they were listed at on Carter's before the sale as well. So the BOGO doesn't really save much $$.
Just aheads up for those wanting to stock up on clothes.
Re: Carter's Sale....Not as good as it seems.
Also, consignment shops are loaded with Carter's clothes and lets face it, they aren't worn out. My local shop has onesies from .75 - $2.
Life with Blog
we got a few of the new summer items
and i was happy with the savings. also enjoyed getting another $10 to spend!
They did change most of the prices back to full retail price for the sale. It's rare that Carters items are priced at full MSRP because most items are offered at a discount all other times. The BOGO offer ends up being like 50% off MSRP, which is probably as steep as the markdowns get, short of being on clearance. Plus, use a coupon when you spend over $40 and you get a great deal.
You can often find the 5 pack of onesies for $10-13 at Ross and Marshalls, but I would pay a few bucks more for a better selection and ambiance of a Carter's store. Plus I find that those discount retailers ruin a lot of the delicate baby clothes by ripping the fabric with their giant security tags.
This really is true of most sales. The best thing you can do is familiarize yourself with regular prices, so you get a feel for what actually is a good deal. You can also get Carters clothes at Kohls, and we know Kohls is ALWAYS running sales and lets you stack all kinds of crazy coupons.
Same will go for all baby items. Just bc Amazon sends you an email and says a carseat is on sale, doesn't mean it's really a deal
#1 thing I learned shopping for all this stuff - there will almost always be another sale! If you weren't going to buy it anyway, something being "on sale" is very rarely a good reason to jump out and spend money.
Ummm, of course it's slightly better than 40% off. It's like 10% better since it's 50% off. Sorry if I'm missing something, but BOGO is 50% off regular price so I think it's a good deal. The main difference is the sticker price is the original price (not the reduced price).
But if it was previously 40% off of a reduced price and now it's 50% off of full price, it's not a flat 10% difference.
I get it, I think. Gosh, going without coffee is fine for me somedays....but not today! I'm tired, groggy and grumpy. Ugh.
The sale price is always off the msrp so yes 50 off is better than 40 off
Yeah it's half off if everything you have is an even number and matches up price wise in perfect sets. But if that's not the case it's worth it to actually add it all up in your cart and see the totals and difference. And for my items it was hardly a great deal compared to the regular sales they have. I knew it'd be cheaper but I wanted to know by how much. I know what BOGO is.
I think mine was a pretty good deal..
I bought 20 items with the BOGO and 2 clearance items - Total MSRP of $494
I used a 25% off purchases $40+ coupon and ended up spending a total of $181 which is a 63% savings...
I think that is a decent deal and much better than the standard 40% off (even at Kohls with a 30% off coupon - not to mention ours has a very limited size selection). I had to stock up on DS's wardrobe for summer and fall and since this is baby #2 we are not having a shower so we are planning on outfitting most of her wardrobe.
