Has anyone done this? I'm considering either making my own.......
Or getting the Alva or Kawaii diaper and stuff them with prefolds, since those sell for redic. cheap on ebay.
Also, I'm a bit confused about pocket diapers. I hear conflicting information in regards to whether or not you can use the shell a few times before it needs washed. Some people say you can just restuff it and throw it on the baby again, and other people say it works like an AIO where you need a whole new diaper with changes.
Re: using prefolds in pocket diapers
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Pockets are definitely one time use.
DD is in OS pockets, and I stuff them with her newborn prefolds. It's working great so far! I recommend them!
I stuff pockets with prefolds and flats all the time. I especially love Imagine bamboo prefolds from Nickis Diapers. One bamboo prefold in a pocket gets us through 12 hours at night with no changes at 10 1/2 months.
Ditto what everyone else said about one time use, but I know what you're talking about--- I have heard that same information about urine going through the material and to the insert, so you could go 2-3 times between changing the whole diaper. Even when I read that, I knew I wouldn't be doing that. Even if the top layer isn't soaked, it was still peed on. That's not something I want hanging out on my baby's skin.
You can use prefolds as inserts either by stuffing them or laying them on top.
Yup, pockets are definitely a one-time use diaper.
I exclusively use prefolds to stuff my pockets at this point (except my FB) because it's so easy, and they seem to absorb more than the MF inserts.
