Made DS1 cry last night

After I picked up the boys from DC, we stopped by Target to get last minute valentines for DC kids and for DH.  When we got home, I reminded DS1 not to tell Daddy what we got him.  When he got out of the car, I reminded him again not to tell Daddy what we got him and that it was a surprise.  What does he do?  Walks right in and says, "Daddy, we got you Star Wars!" (He had picked out a Darth Vader heart box.) Not thinking, I said, "No, honey, it was supposed to be a surprise!" He burst in to tears and says, "I didn't say Darth Vader!"  I felt so bad that he was so upset that he thought I was mad at him!  Good thing DS2 still keeps secrets!

I had to bribe DD1 with a coloring book, so she would not tell Daddy what we got him. Poor thing!

my Dear son (now 14) couldn't keep a secret to save his life when he was little.  He and DH and DD#1 would go shop for me and it would eat him alive.  He would say "momma, know what we got you?" "huh momma, know what we got, huh?"

then I would say "no, no don't tell me its a suprise" to which he would say "but I gotta tell you" and then he would just bust out with the info,

It is so precious now when I think back on it.
